Latest rumor via SKY - Both Mercedes and Ferrari are keen on luring Daniel Ricciardo from Red Bull, according to Helmut Marko.

The Red Bull team advisor even claims that the Scuderia are more interested in the Australian, who impressed with a fourth-place finish at his home grand prix on Sunday, than highly-rated teenager Max Verstappen.

"Ferrari are much more interested in Ricciardo than Verstappen," Marko is quoted by Auto Motor und Sport.

And he also told Austrian broadcaster Servus TV: "The red and the silver teams are knocking."

Let the transfer rumours commence... (Full story - external site, in German)

There's a reason he's (somewhat) affectionately known as 'Crazy Helmut'...... ;)

Anyone know if he's (RIC) out of contract at the end of this season?

    Kimi is, correct?

    Cheers,
    Ian

I can even see a shock move coming, Kvyat to Ferrari.

    He's fluent in Italian
Ferrari has fairly significant backing from Kaspersky who'll surely like a fellow russian at Ferrari
I found him highly impressive in his first season (considering no 2nd tier experience, only GP3), and I had my doubts of him going against Ricciardo who impressed many against Vettel. After the initial few races he got the hang of his new team and very often matched or beat Ricciardo.
He's not a whiner on the radio.

Verstappen will take his place at RBR. Rosberg to stay at Mercedes.

That's me on an outside bet!

The linkage to Kaspersky is interesting. Im not sure that Kyvat is the type of cut throat, a bit, like Ricci. He has the speed and I had the same thoughts as you he would fit at Ferrari potentially. He seems to make a great #2 but would we want or think he was able to lead the team in the absence of Vettel.

I see him more like Kimi has become, fast but not always consistent and bad luck seems to find him sometimes. All things are possible in F1 and your summation just might be the situation we see at Monza :)\

I opened a new thread to not de-rail this Max thread further. http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/f1/517075-f1-2016-silly-season-driver-moves.html

Kimi is very cool when he is not in the car, but almost exactly like Max while in the car. Both have hot heads while driving. The difference seems to be that Kimi has problems mostly beyond his control, while Max causes his own problems on the track. Max was enjoying the ride last season, but in Australia he sounded like a diva.
