Looks lovely. As I said before, I think this is the nicest bonnet stripe I have seen and contemplated it for a moment myself but then was never happy about how to deal with the sides. To my eye, most of the stripes are somewhat lairy and boy racerish making an already busy bonnet too busy. This is a perfect compromise for the bonnet (hood?)
Some carbon shields would really smooth out the car as the fuel filler cap and calipers suit the silver lines.
The lines are Bianco Fuji. I would NEVER change the scudetto. To me that is like messing with the car's ADN - which gets done all too often in today's world.
+1 Would never consider it either for shields or 'hubcaps' despite any notional aesthetic improvement or matching. To my way of thinking you cannot mess with corporate logos, especially those steeped in history and unchanged for over half a century. Next it might look nice to have the prancing horse to match the body colour......
Your car knowledge far surpasses mine. I looked up the meaning of scudetto and roughly translates to awarded championship? As in kind of messing with Ferrari's achievements after the fact? That would make sense. I have never heard the ADN term unless it was meant to say DNA. This is why I like hanging out on fchat as you pick up things via osmosis.
It is a delicate balance of being steeped in heritage and acknowledging change. I too don't really like the carbon shields but after seeing some 599 GTO examples of before and after like one of Romo's bianco Italia examples, I couldn't believe the difference. You also have e's fine tdf which has the carbon shields on it and I wonder if it's a matter of time before the factory offers them. I found out that the reason some of the the 250s etc had huge "shields" is because customers just painted or stickered themselves because the factory wasn't doing it and now it seems completely normal. Same with matte paint. It was for boy racers and rat rods about 15 to 20+ years ago and the 599 GTO was pretty "mainstream" in having matte roofs etc. Not sure about the body coloured shields.
Thank you. I noticed the guy taking the picture from a golf at the traffic light!! He was with a lady in the car, right? In today's world you can't even drive down the street anymore without being spotted!!!😆😆
You're so right... With all those spotters , I'll never cheat on my wife while driving a supercar... Peter, do you have a close up of your blue Carbon exterior parts ? that's the most interesting feature of your build.
Thank you very much! You were very informative as always. Best Regards Greg +1 Any problems with the law?
