What's your opinion? sounds better a v12 N/a with or without the electric engine?
IMHO, no comparison. Heard both running in anger at Fiorano last summer. F12 sounds amazing, but La Ferrari is Biblical....
Does the engine in the TdF not use hydraulic roller lifters? Seems strange to use mechanical lifters, especially flat tappet lifters as they can make the hydraulic rollers work in the 458 at 9000+ rpm with no issues. And to sure why this would change the exhaust a lot. My guess is that the sound change has to do with the intake design and somewhat due to the different exhaust. The F12 already uses 6-1 headers and the sound of the TdF is very much an intake side howl.
a quote from the specifications> F12 tdf motor - interior detail Numerous modifications have been developed for this engine, starting with the use of race-inspired mechanical tappets and variable-geometry intake trumpets used on Formula 1 cars which help boost volumetric efficiency at high revs. The F12tdf is equipped with a specific version of the F1 DCT with 6% shorter gear ratios that delivers 30% faster upshifts and 40% faster downshifts.
