    Hey Mike,

I ordered one from this guy just a couple weeks ago. It's still in the box, but from what everyone has said, it is a good quality. Let me know if you want me to take mine out of the box. On the plus side, I ordered in through ebay on a friday, and it arrived on Saturday...now that's service.

I took my old one off and took it to a auto upholstery shop. He did a nice job and it cost $75. Looks as good as new.

I am also getting mine done at Car Care Cosmetics Plus in Houston while they are doing the rest of the interior. I'll post a pic in my restoration section when I see that part done.

I did the same thing, looks great. I however selected the material and took it to my upholstery guy.

I guess the upholestry shops around here aren't very good...

I took my torn one to 3 different places to see if they could repair or replace. All said they could not repair and only one said they could "probably" make up a new one for about $250.

Yes I would love to see it. When are you going to install it?

Mike, that trunk cover doesn't show cut-outs or reinforcements for the latch areas. Looks like it would require a trip to the upholsterer in addition to purchasing the cover.

I would stick with the eBay cover, although it may have larger grain vinyl than standard and latch cut-outs are not precisely the same shape as original.
    or
Richard Ward @ [email protected]. He has nice looking covers but refuses to stitch around the latch opening. I have seen several trunk covers that came unglued around the latch openings even with glue and staples. Richard simply refuses to stitch there.
    or
    Head to your local upholsterer.

    Good luck...

    Jim

These covers are still listed on eBay. I bought one about six weeks ago. It never arrived. I emailed the seller twice and never got a response. Eventually I used the eBay resolution center to get my money refunded as the seller never replied to the eBay inquiry as well.

I thought the guy making these was on FChat but I can't find evidence of that now.

I wonder what happened here. I wanted a trunk cover!

Thanks for the lead. Was it a used original or a new reproduction? Did it have the cutouts for the latches done?

Superformance and Walkersport both sell a cover (probably the same one) and they both don't have the latch cutouts done, so it is more of a project. If I can get that part already finished I would prefer it.

Sucks to turn up bad news.

I recall purchasing this cover from Mr. Jon Cornell of North Royalton, OH (Cleveland area). He called his company UFO Performance Products. Jon was attentive and great to deal with. That was back in October of 2011. The purchase was seamless. He was willing to assist with any issues. So for him to not come through was completely out of character. Now I know why.

Jon passed away in July of 2013. I don't know the who or what since his death regarding orders.

New reproduction I assume. Take it out of the box & install it. Fit perfect.

I deal with Puma there. I've been restoring a 87 328 to sell & he has been a big help.

Tell him Steve from Mercedeshowroom in FL. told you.

Wow this is an old thread. Actually, I never did bought one, I took my old one to my local upholstery shop and they replaced the entire zipper, but now Im starting to see a small tear at the end of the zipper and it gets worst every time I tried to unzip it. So, thanks for bringing this thread back as I'm going to be needing a new trunk cover. I will try all the above suggestion. First thing I'm going to call FerrParts then search Ebay and so on. I'll let everyone know where I find one for good price.

Well, that is too bad. Also too bad that whoever is running UFO products is able to place eBay ads but not ship product. When I bought the product I PayPaled the money to a UFO Products e-mail address.

OK, thanks for that. It is a shame he is gone, but it clears up a mystery I had going on. I think my next call will be to FerrParts.

I'll be the guinea pig here, I just ordered the one from Lakewell. The others look like the grain is to coarse and the latch holes need to be cut and hemmed, so we'll see. The rest of Lakewell's interior goods seem really nice as well.

Be curious to know how this turns out. I looked at a couple covers from other companies, and the vinyl grain and zippers are not even close to the original. Would be great if Lakewell is a better match.

The cover on my 328 looks nice except I think the vinyl has shrunk, as the forward edge (towards the engine) is pulling away from the weatherstrip and there isn't enough slack left to snug it back. I wish there was an easier fix for that, as the rest of the cover is fine and looks new. But if the Lakewell cover is a good match, I'll just replace the old cover.
