I sold my 458 last year and bought an Aventador. Missed having an F car and in midst of buying an F12. A little nervous about how soon a successor will come. I can't tell from my search here and Google if what's next is a souped up F12 or a new car. Maybe no one knows. If you were guessing, what model year do you think the true successor will be? Thx and glad to be back.
F12 replacment is coming in 2017, that is a confirmed fact. You need to consider a good 18 months from now until you can buy one, subject to your standing with local dealer as waiting lists my be already filling up. I know that some European dealers are accepting deposits for early slots from customers they know. Good luck

Have a read of "Rumor Time" and "2017 F12" threads.General consensus is that there will be an "M" version of the current F12 in 2017 with a completely new model in a few years.
My understanding and belief (which my dealer has verified) is that 2017 car will be an updated version of current F12 not a completely new model.New model is a few years off.I suspect changes will be similar to changes made to FF to create GTC4 Lusso. If you look at Marcel Massini's comments 2017 model will be normally aspirated and with circa 800 bhp.
I think it has been accepted for some time that the F12M will appear at Geneva and will be n/a. Now MM confirms this with the added fact that it will sport 800HP and we can assume 4WS, a total cabin revision with central screen, body modifications, updated suspension etc. New model, probably with turbo in 2020 approx. I am always amazed by the difference between the US and Euro markets. I have my order in and expect an early car if it suits me, whereas in the US it seems you will be fortunate to even be allocated one. Insane.
Perhaps the difference between the US vs Euro market is a matter of some kind of strange sales tradition. I agree that this is arbitrary. FNA want to keep USA customers in a state of perpetual insecurity. We grovel at the feet of our geographical dealer. Laugh at his bad jokes, compliment him on his ill fitting suit and kiss his ring in the hopes of getting a car.

One of the Sr Ferrari people I met at the Gtc4lusso launch was surprised that I was expecting a 2017 Geneva launch and digested that they may launch it later in 2017 in another major European show( Frankfurt) as paris is 2016 then jumps to 2018.
It will be interesting to see if the 800HP figure for the M comes to fruition. I would think they would not want to exceed TDF hp...
FXX "Evo" put out 860 PS from 6.3l almost 10yrs ago. There is still room for improvement even for a street car with cat and noise limits.
The F12 was the advanced drivetrain and the next generation engine/chassis after the 599GTO so its really not the same as the F12M to the F12. I hope there is not a repeat of LE owners knocking down the next car (whatever its called) even if its just a mid season refresh. That stuff got old IMHO. Lets let Ferrari go for it and we all win. An NA 6.5L V12 800hp F12M is just what the doctor ordered! Puts it ahead of the 488 and the base Aventador as it should be. The tdf will still be what it is and won't be threatened. Personally, I would like a bit over 800hp with the new block so there's margin against the turbos and hybrids for a few years.
Isn't it by now clear that there will be no "M" models anylonger? 4 year product cycle followed by a new name. The amount of modifications will be sometimes more sometimes less. But the times for an M version that extends lifecycle from 4 to 8 yrs are definately gone.
i believe also that the f12 successor will also not bear the name "f12" in it anywhere. various people here keep calling it an f12m and it is very confusing since there will be no such car called "f12m"
