I guess if value is important, then you might arrange by price brackets:

    0-$30k - Mondial
    $30-50k - 348
    $50-90k - 360 or 550
    $90-150k - 430 or 599
    $150-200k - Scud, CS, or 458
    $200k+ - Vintage

No I didn't.....I like the other choices better, just an opinion.

328 is pretty sweet though but underpowered for what I would look for in that price category.

Not a fan of TR styling, also underpowered when compared to a Lamborghini Diablo, which a few are still out there for less than $100k

Right now, I would stay away from these cars.

    I owned a 328 - great Ferrari for $40K USD. For 70 - 100K, I don't think so. I've even seen 308s eclipsing 50K. Crazy.

They made so many of these cars that there is no justification for these prices, other than prospectors playing their games. And Ferrari produced nearly 8000 TRs.

A 360 could blow the doors off any these cars in every possible way. The thought that someone would actually pay more for a 328 than a 360: just wow.

And that 308 wont get you into the elevated circles that that 360 will open up for you....

    Elevated circles make me dizzy.
I'll stick with my lowly 308

I find when I call it a 308 Dino it gets me into the elevated circles...then they see my car and say 'oh, one of those Dinos!'. Next they usually ask me to sit at the kids table!

Yeah, same for me too. Not the reason I bought my 308. Didn't buy it thinking I'd make money. If it held its own and I can drive it and work on it, all the better. I'm also a guy that likes my 914's so I'm used to it.

Nothing wrong with preferring more modern performance to the vintage experience offered by the 3X8 cars, however the way you said it is a bit harsh.

    And a 360 will outperform a California Spyder, 250 GTO and I could go on . . . .

Didn't mean to be harsh. I really do enjoy those cars.

I just am frustrated by artificially inflated prices.

    A thought:

One does not obtain an Italian Mistress based on resale value, but based on how it makes your heart beat.

Funny enough, I did spend most of my time at the in-laws today at the kids table and it truly is where the fun is. My 11yr old son pointed out it's the same turkey they have at the big table-who the hell knew!

I think I'd just buy a new Fcar before getting anywhere near an Italian mistress. Much much less expensive!!

In every possible way? - I'd say that a 328 absolutely urinates on the 360 when it comes to styling!

I would vote for the 348 as well. Good looking car, agile peppy.

Last year I would vote for the TR, but prices have gone up to the point where they should be. But there are still some drivers out there in the high 50's.

Its funny how the TR styling is so polarizing. Im in the 'love it' crowd.

You've got some development left Phil. ;-) 328 is cool, but it doesn't have as much intent in the design as the 360 which has the most curves since a Dino.

How reliable are the Ferrari 360 and if u don't track the car I heard you can do belt changes at 5 years?? What's all the things to know about this car as far as good and the bad in ownership. Are they any Indy shops in NC that work on them and should I use dealer instead??

Best used Ferrari values assuming the cars are properly maintained. The lack of maintenance can render any car purchase nightmarish. Mondial, any one is a deal. Coupes and convertibles. 348s remain great buys for their performance. I also like 550s 575s and 612s.

I do not put 355s in the group because good ones are getting pricey. You might a decent deal nevertheless. 360s are still depreciating so they're off the list but not for long. Once they hit bottom they will be good buys but with more limited upside because of the production volume.

GT4s could be strategic buys. I think these are going to end up between the glass 308s and the rest. 308s are getting pricey due to speculation. 328s haven't been value for money for a long time. They are just too much in demand and costly. 400s and 410s are kind of a wild card. They should be on the list but I've seen too many that were a mess.

1995-1998 456 GT's are still relatively inexpensive to buy. Maintenance is high and there are issues (windows/dash) But a $200K 12 cylinder Ferrari for under $50K?

    IMHO

  25. Does anyone have a high...low...and average what a '90 Ferrari Testarossa should be going for on fair market value??? All the ones im seeing...i can't believe people are asking for which is in the low to high $200k range. Whats My Cars Worth show on Velocity had a 91 and one of the main cast members who works for the auctioneer house that gives a rough estimate said between $40k - $80k depending on the condition. Reason its so low is that they aren't in high demand. Those prices seem low so now im lost. I was thinking in the low $100k. Needs some experts to help me with this.

TYVM in advance for your response.
