Greetings, trying to join the ranks of the Ferrari owners club with a Rosso Corsa 348 TS/TB. Not too picky on interior color Crema/Nero is fine. Recent Major is not required, but should be priced accordingly. Want to find a no-stories clean driver, ideally somewhere in the 20-50k mi range that has been cared for, mechanically and aesthetically maintained, and most importantly driven over the years.

    In the words of Itsablur....
I am not a flipper or a dealer, just an avid lifelong enthusiast looking to start a first venture into Ferrari ownership.

I've got a 1990 348ts that has 85,500 miles looks and drives like mint! The only issues are
    130psig on all cylinders
    E6 on Hvac
    Interior light INOP
Small oil leaks on cam seals.

Has new paint windshield interior sticky no more and lots more.

It needed a little bit of body and paint work. It still is tempting.

The owner did not seem as interested in discussing maintenance issues as mush as I was, left me uneasy.

that one is really not too bad. I have a verbal sale as of last night on a 17K mile car that I should be sending a deposit on today, more expensive than the one posted, but its a clean no-stories car with service records(starting in the late 90s @ 10K miles). The only negative for this car is that it has ~4000 miles, but 8 years on the last major so one is due.

Meister, your a top notch guy. I appreciate all the help you have been in this process.

Oh, Falcon Wing damage doesn't look that terrible...as long as it was fixed correctly...don't let that stop you.

Then again...getting into the thread about it, many people speculated frame damage. But--nothing a PPI wouldn't get to the bottom of right?

True, but its supposed to be a salvage title, and if its not, it should be. I dont want any part of that drama.

If the compression check/PPI come back clean on the car I found, I have myself a 348... we will see.

Curious what the Carfax says about Falcon Wings car ?
I am always curious what the Carfax says about a car, not the end all of accurate info .....
But a good place to start when you are looking around.

Didn't realize that link was to FW's car. IIRC seller basically denied any damage when asked about it previously. Good thing there are watchdogs out there/here

I agree! If it was not for FC I would be just another clueless buyer. Buying my first F-car is exciting, I am sure this car wont be the last. Now I am getting educated on all the nitty gritty of the "major" stuff. I feel like I need to start a "how long can I go without a timing belt thread" just to fit in/ rite of passage! lol
