Broke over $21,000 today. There is no perfect size donation. Every dollar helps big or small. Thank you for caring so much about a fellow friend I met here on Ferrarichat 9 years ago. Lot of good times, great stories, and similar passions for beautiful things in life. Please try to send an e-card that Jon's dad can read to him as he is recovering - maybe tell him your favorite story or thread you read. All good stuff here. Robb Image Unavailable, Please Login
Thanks for keeping us all up to date, Robb. I've made my donation and sent an eCard. This tragedy could happen to any of us, and it is really heartening to see the good folk coming together to help.
It's been pretty busy as you all know. Eric sent a paper card for me last week (thanks Eric!) and I just today sent an e-card myself with some thanks to Jon for so many good things. I would encourage you all to stay positive. Jon may not know the full situation with Amanda yet because of his current condition so for now it may be best to just concentrate on him and let the doctors figure out the best time to expose him to bigger issues. That may be obvious but we just want him to take the best road back. My thanks to so many here for their time, caring, and cameraderie. Robb
This just in from our friends at Petrolicious: Today, You Can Help A Fellow Enthusiast - Petrolicious Robb
very good job robb. the concourse that jon first debuted his car is this week in la jolla. I hope they will make mention of jon and this sad event.
Just contributed to the GoFund me site. Please, everyone, take the time to send something. Breaks my heart to see the photo of his partner and her children. We have all been blessed in life in some way, and this man needs that from us now. Don't mean to hector anyone, just really am touched by the tragedy and want to help.
I lived in San Diego for an entire year attending San Diego State back in the day. This was not a good day......
Petrolicious article on John. Sorry if it is a repost. Today, You Can Help A Fellow Enthusiast - Petrolicious
Talked to Jon's dad today. He said Jon was improving and getting some of his color back. He said that they have most of the household stuff good to go thanks to great neighbors and other local friends. Jon's other brother will be arriving next week and may need assistance with some small stuff around town so I'll let the group of volunteers know as things come up. He wanted to thank all of the great people supporting Jon's recovery. He is looking forward to reading Jon more of the e-cards and well-wishes. More to come likely tomorrow. Robb
I'm so saddened by this news ..... Life throws some curveballs but this is just the worst kind . My best wishes to Jon and his family
If his Dad can arrange it he should show Jon this thread and read some of his PM s to him. I know I sent one at first not knowing what else to do. Thank you Robb for taking so much of your time to help out a fellow car guy. It's been amazing and uplifting to see the outpouring of support and love from this amazing community!!! A little bit of brightness and positivity coming out of such a dark and sad incident. Best wishes Jon for a full recovery!!
Wow, just saw this and read every page...truly shocking and horrible news. Like others I didn't know Bullfighter Jon personally, only through his many great posts. RIP Amanda, and hoping Jon has a full recovery...
Just donated, thanks Robb for setting this up. I am so proud to be a member of this community and the people here are just amazing. Get Well soon Jon.
Truly shocked by this and how things can turn tragic in an instant. My wife will get an extra special hug tonight - you just never know. Like many here I did not have any direct interactions with Bullfighter; but, you can't help but "know" him if you spend anytime at all on this site. The E-card through the Hospital system is a great idea. It just takes a couple minutes to pass on a few encouraging words and let someone know people are thinking of them. I encourage everyone to take those couple minutes. Do it now. Jon - best wishes for a full recovery Amanda - I am at a loss to find words... My thoughts are with her kids and family.
Great job of every Fchatter who so far donated to the fund/sent Jon a PM/digital postcard/prayers. No money in the world can turn back time, but having to pick up your life again after such an event is hard enough as it is. Experiencing the superb involvement of this community, and having an already considerable financial back-up will make the path to recovery a bit lighter. I don't have a credit card, but a fellow Fchatter who has one, who I did business with recently and who I trust was willing (thanks again !) to forward a bank transfer to the fund.
Funny, I was in the same boat. I donated after I got my new card. I'm happy to see we are near 25k, and pray Jon continues to improve.
Alberto Mantovani sent me a donation thru paypal to make on his behalf all the way from Modena Italy. He asked me to give Jon a "Ciao" for him next time I tak to Jon. Well done. Thank you for the support Alberto. Your donation has just nudged the fundraising close to the halfway mark. Robb
Update from Jon's dad: It appears that Jon will be able to move from the ICU to a normal room at the hospital by next week. That means that friends will be able to visit, and flowers can be sent if you have been waiting for that... He is making steps forward which should be great news to all of us. Robb
