Hello all, I am new to the site and first time Ferrari owner. We gave up a 2011 E63, as to aquire an FF. Driving an FF is a glorious experience. I for one, like the looks of the FF. Secondly, i purchased Mr. Rick Ledermans previous car. Yes, i am the owner of a 50K mile car. It is still under warranty, and I will purchase an extension. The car was in "my" price point, in excellent shape, and i have realized yet another dream. Lastly, vehicle was purchased from MAG, in Ohio. Great guys who delivered as promised.

    Respectfully,

    Jose

Congrats, excellent choice! I have seen and driven this car and it's first rate. The care Rick lavished on it was fantastic. Unfortunately timing wasn't right for me the first time around, and I missed it this time around. I am glad to know where it ended up! I hope you put a ton of miles on it and keep us posted on how it does! :)

That man Rick had superb taste. Silverstone and beige is sooooooooo elegant in an 'old school' sort of way. Well done and welcome to the mad house of f car passion.

    By the way ........snap.

Well done, a great car at a great price. You will love it more and more as you drive it in various conditions. Are you like Rick and Toy Barn, also also in Ohio?

Thank you all for the warm welcome. Initially, i was after a 458, that plan was laid to rest after the kids asked "where do we sit"?? So, after much reading and later speaking with Rick, I decided the FF would suit us best. No, we live in Houston TX. I had the car transported. The sound/feel are spectacular. This car is not our DD, but will be driven often.

    Thanks again,

    Jose

We visited the Houston dealership twice. The general manager goes out of his way to make you feel welcomed, great guy. However, None of the three FF available were in my price point. I was looking for a model with miles, yet a well maintained example. Yes, the kids are more exited about the car than I am. Regarding our dogs, sometimes, i think they eat better than I... spoiled rotten.

Congrats on the purchase Jose! We owned an FF here as well and it was a riot (for four)! Let us know if you look into any performance mods down the road. We have plenty and would love to add you to the large Wheels Boutique family.

Gentlemen, I am humbeld by your well wishes, thank you. You see, I had reservations about posting my purchase of a 50K mile car...i did not want my parade rained on. After work, i open the garage and cannot belive how beautiful she looks sitting there.

    Cheers,

    Jose

You're welcome to share your experiences going forward. It's interesting stuff, although I expect no trouble from the car.

Have you checked the brake life?

I asked MAG to remove all rotors, and were weighed by them. According to FNA, they are good for another 50K miles with "normal" use/driving, no "track use". The pads were replaced and are new prior to my purchase.

I am already contemplating the purchase of a 355, 430, or 458... I should be positioned to do so in a year or so... addicting cars!

    Cheers,

    Jose

Nice!!! After you have spent some time in your new ride, please tell me how it compares to the E63...not only how it responds and drives, but also trunk capacity, etc. I assume your E63 is a sedan since the E63 wagon was not available in the US for 2011. I, too, currently have a W212 E63 with the M156 motor.

Yes, it is a sedan. The M156 engine is tride and proven, a balanced car for certain. However, the E63 can easily be mistaken with an E350... by most on lookers. The FF, is an experience enjoyed by driver and on lookers. Noting on the road looks like it. Build quality and feel; FF hands down. The E63 is no match.

yes, that's the point in a way - my daily is a 2013 C63 wagon, de-badged, on small wheels, in dark blue - flies under the radar, no one notices it, but it'll pretty much blitz anything you find sitting half an inch off your bumper. speak softly, but carry a bloody big stick and all that.

My daily is a truck, my wife drives an LX570 suv to transport the kids. For sprinting around town, i have a TT 996, modified by Akram, here in houston. I wanted something nicer than the E63 for date nights, FF hands down...

Exactly! I'm sure Mercs will fly under the radar even better over there in Europe due to so many taxis using them, especially the E-Class. Here in the States, it is still considered nice even as a E350 due to none being used as normal taxis.

Lucky to those of you living in a country with C63 wagon. But can't complain with cars being so much cheaper here in the States compared to all other countries.

Hey Jose, would you consider keeping the FF beyond 12 years?

Talking to a Ferrari race engineer about V12s last week it became clear they see all the road car versions as 'bullet proof' providing they are correctly maintained. Asked to expand on that he said normal road use should see at least a 100k miles and with a sympathetic owner probably twice that. Gone are the days of a required rebuild after a few years of mixed use.

Plus a good tip is to change oil and filters twice as often as recommended if you regularly use your car for track days. Makes sense I suppose. But ironically he said 'the more you use them the better they get' ........music to my ears .....12500 miles in 10 months so far and off to the Miglia Mille next month and Sicily in the Autumn .......life's a b1tch.
