I may have posted this before, but had a similar situation a while back. While wearing one of my Ferrari shirts in the office - nice button down collar with a tasteful Cavallino - a co worker said "so what's the deal? You buy the car they give you a shirt?" I answered "yeah, something like that."

A couple of weeks later I pulled into the parking lot on 'Ferrari Friday' just as the same guy was getting out of his car. He stared wide eyed and called out "Holy crap! I thought you were kidding!"

(Turned out he was a really avid car guy with a classic restoration project in the go. You never know...)

I recall a good ten years ago now. We (me and my ex missus) were walking around EPCOT early in the morning not long after the park had opened, me with a Ferrari baseball cap on, near to 'France' and an employee of Disney walked by.
I had only had a Ferrari for a year and a half at that time, but the employee asked me if I owned a Ferrari. It seemed odd as so many people are F1 fans with hats or T-shirts.

What a great feeling when I retorted "Yes". He just walked on by but I suspect a reply he'd not expected.

I was inquiring about shipping and the guy jokingly asked Ferrari or Porsche. I said Ferrari, that shut him up, but his coworker was dying laughing. Then he told me about the $15,000 1985 Countach he passed on a few years ago. I said you really should have bought it, they are going for $350,000 now, could you put me in touch with the seller, his coworker started laughing again.

Ferrari related story; recently I was driving my Abarth with my youngest daughter and the top down - the car is loud and brash and a blast to buzz around town. We pull up to this Suburban and a middle aged guy lowers his window and asks my daughter what kind of car it is. She says it's an Abarth, like a Fiat but faster, I chime in and say that it's like a mini version of a Ferrari. The guy laughs and says "you wish! good luck getting the real thing"...I don't say anything and pull away. My daughter looks at me quizzically, and asks why I didn't him I had one, I respond to her that I don't care what a stranger thinks and he probably wouldn't have believed me!

At a gas station this past weeken when a guy comes up to me and asks " Buuudy, is that a real car or one of them there kit cars?" Not knowing how to respond I told him laughing "yeah it's a kit car, how did you know?"
He said "I knew it, you can always tell, they just never look right"
I just got in and drive off figuring who am I to argue with an expert.

That's great! I love the experts, lol. I don't remember if I posted it here or not, but while at a show, I overheard a guy point to my 360 and say "you can get one of these for 40 grand". I felt like giving him my number and offering him $4,000 if he can find me one in great shape for $40,000...then I realized I would be the tool then, so I just bit my tongue.

I was walking out of Lowe's hardware store toward my 360 Spider. I saw a father and son admiring my car. As I approach, the son said that the owner would be stupid to pay more than $60,000 for the car. I was sloppily dressed that day so they think that I was just another admirer. We did some small talks and he said that the owner isn't taking care of the car because it's so dusty with bug splatters on the wind shield. That is definitely true since I do drive the car whenever I can and only washes her about once a month.

At that point, I click the FOB and the car chirped. They looked at each other with embarrassment. The son said that he has the phone number of a person willing to unload a 2001 360 manual with 13K on the odometer for $60,000. I pulled out my wallet and flashed three $100.00 bills. I gave him my cellphone number and said that if he can provide me with the seller's information, $300.00 is his. It's been a week, and I still haven't heard from him.

There just aren't enough Ferrari Badges on the car.

I think there is a written rule, that kit Ferraris must have at least 30 badges showing on the outside of the car.

I was pumping gas and a guy walked up and said, " I bet that takes 93 octane". I told him I couldn't afford that type gas any more.

These are different octane blends, rated with the same method, the US method.

EU ratings are 95/98, which are equivalent to US ratings of 91/93.

So, EU 95 octane = US 91 octane and EU 98 octane = US 93 octane.

Top performance with EU 98 octane = 93 US octane.
Small loss in performance with EU 95 octane = 91 US octane.
