From Wikipedia: The Dead Weather is an American rock supergroup, formed in Nashville, Tennessee in 2009. Composed of Alison Mosshart (of The Kills and Discount), Jack White (formerly of The White Stripes and The Raconteurs), Dean Fertita (of Queens of the Stone Age) and Jack Lawrence (of The Raconteurs, The Greenhornes and City and Colour),[6] The Dead Weather debuted at the opening of Third Man Records' Nashville headquarters on March 11, 2009. The band performed live for the first time at the event, immediately before releasing their debut single "Hang You from the Heavens". The band's second studio album, Sea of Cowards, was released first in Ireland on May 7, 2010, then on May 10 and 11 in the United Kingdom and the United States, respectively. Dodge and Burn, their third studio album, was released in September 2015. I either really like a piece by them or hate it. (I have the last two albums.) I think he's underestimated because of his image.
I do love Rage, but they burned my flag in '99 during "Killing in the Name Of"... Then again, that was a really ****ed up Woodstock apparently.
Just a little known socialist punk band from Vancouver called DOA https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8bSMw3jDMm4
Great version. I was listening to a folder of random rap on my way to a Chapel Hill, TX yesterday and this song came on and I forget how great this song is. Really should have been a radio hit. It also reminded me how much I like Obie Trice. Wonder what happened to him. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rT5A91J9JtQ[/ame]
I thought I read something to that effect. I can't pigeon hole their sound, which I think is a good thing. I think Eminem is among the best rappers at painting mental imagery with his songs. I think Jay Z has better "flow", but Eminem is certainly tops from among the generation that I listen to...T
Yeah. I admit it, I like Dido. Her songs are pretty drippy, but her voice is great. Soothing. If I was a baby (chronologically not mentally), I'd want her singing me lullabies. 😉 This is one if my faves. http://youtu.be/0nO45A7tTMs T
I listen to Limp Bizkit a lot when I'm stressed or ticked, which I seem to be a lot lately. Now listening to "High" by Jimmie's Chicken Shack. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P4dILrfY8Co
I listen to RATM before a big presentation at work to get patched up. Hope things ease up for you, Nick. This came on the radio while I was running errands this morning. Great song. Even the video is a hoot. http://youtu.be/z9nkzaOPP6g T
Best run your bait asap! My fondest memories of beach excursions involved inclimate weather conditions but then again I never possessed coherent mental faculties.
Surfing YouTube this video presented itself and it intrigued me....the new face of Metal? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rZApf9c8Tes
😃 They're better looking than Angus Young, no doubt about that! 😉 I thought the guy (gal?) who did the guitar solo was quite good. Have been listening to a good bit of Gin Blossoms of late. They're coming to DFW and our friends got tickets for them and us...T
Righteous post. Two things strike me after watching/listening to that. First, how much sound that Rush generates with only three people. Second, how narrow the play lists are on the radio. The Seeker is a great song and I can't tell you the last time I heard it on the radio...T
