Good Morning , i would like to have an advice : do you think that the side shields are a must to buy optional for a future resell of the car? I am buying a new white GTC4 but i prefer it without them ( it looks lower without ).thanks!

I think some of this depends on your market in Italy. In the USA, I can tell you it is a fact that the shields mean easier resale. However, if the car is a darker color, grey, blue, black come to mind, and there is no shield, I think you will likely find buyer, it just might take a little longer and maybe you have to sell for a little lower than you might hope. I could be way off base here, but white is a trendy color and that means an even more trendy buyer and to my mind that means the person looking for a white one is likely looking for shields. But this is just my opinion.

My advice is get it the way you want it. If I were ordering a new GTC4 today I would also order it without shields because I appreciate the slightly less attention without the shields.

Thank you for your advice! i love the side shields .... but the problem is that they don't fit well in the gtc4 because they are positioning in a very high position and because the share of this car. Take a look to the configurator put white Avus with black inside, use the basic rims and black callipers. At this point if u add the shields the car looks taller and less aggressive, no way!

Leopoldo, I like that the GTC4 is good for a family with a small baby, since one can have a baby basket laid across the back seats like in the California T...

Leopaldo- You could always order carbon fiber shields, which will go fine with Bianco paint. If someone wants yellow ones, they are easy enough to change, two bolts/nuts and some double sided tape.

Indeed, I would prefer the less attention by not having the shields, but that's just me. Is there a price difference in choosing not to have the shields? Can the factory just put the 2 shields as parts with adhesive backing sheets, in the glove box so you can just put them on or give them to the new owner at the time of selling. By the way, the shields for the GTC4 seems out of place.

The Lusso would look better without. Get a 3 year lease.

I thought no shields meant you had poor taste?

I tried the configurator with your specifications. I copied the images to Photoshop.

We all see things a little differently. In this case I don't see the difference in height that you do, but if it bothers you then it is an issue.

I like Terry's idea of the CF shield- the shades work. I made you a rendering- please pardon my so-so PS skills but this should give you an idea. I only did the CF shields on the first one as I am pressed for time. If you want I can do it on the others as well.

I need to say from a conceptual stand point I really don't like CF shields because I think the shield is one element that should retain its colors. But... I can't say it doesn't look good here. And if this works better to your eyes then I suggest you order the car with the standard shields and then order the CF shields through your dealer parts department or if they will let you, then order the CF shields along with the car. What's important is the original sales documentation will state the car was delivered with standard shields. You can drive around with the CF shields on and then put back the standard ones when it comes time to sell... I hope these attachments work!

I also want to say this is a very nice spec and a beautiful car and I think it looks best without the shields. But that is just me and this is a car for you :)

This model and the FF obviously, to my eye, look best without shields. Personally I would never have shields on a non LE car, they never used to and it was only force of the market wanting to emulate the race cars, that resulted in the factory offering them. Having tried it and got punished on resale, I am unlikely to do so again.

But badge less would look very classy on the FF and GTC4 if you were brave.

I think all of the V12s look much better without shields. Go for it, the last thing you want to think is man I wish I had ordered the car for me rather than the next owner!

The shields cost about $1400 or approx £950 to option them. I sure when you option them the wings have indents that house the shields. No shields means no indents so retro fitting is not possible.

Agree the shields look like an afterthought on the grrrrruffo (Lusso in in aggro speak)

Chances of a set of body color shields and traditional as a crude solution? Zero % or less?

Nope, that's just what your brain heard. The Lusso shields don't work with the rest of the design. It's an older look overall (with modern/generic rear end) and they're super tacky plastered above the fins.

Black FF with yellow caliper and yellow shields, split 5 spokes is a great look.

Yes the shields do disturb the design lines - If you're gonna keep the GTC4 for more than 3 years
I don't think it'll matter much on resale. Condition and great spec will be more important - IMO
