There have been quite a few questions about the driver that caused the accident; from the San Diego Sheriff's website (public information): Image Unavailable, Please Login
Amanda did not make it, WILLIAMH. She's gone on, ahead....... Jon is facing some life changing challenges too, as I understand it. He's stabile though if they can move from ICU. I think he had additional surgery, early this week.
Thanks, and as the charges are updated, to Vehicular Manslaughter, I would expect that $3,000,000 to climb Korean, not Chinese.
We are hoping Jon can join us on this thread someday.....Let's let the Court System do it's work. I would wager her mug shot has an "oh sh^&%&*%" look, to it. Two days to her first Court appearance, by then the DA should be there, with the bad news about Amanda. Most new prisons do not even move the prisoner, they face a Judge via CCTV.
yeah, like it did with her other convictions???? If the system worked......Amanda would still be here and Jon would still be enjoying life with her and the boys..
I fully understand.. I guess Cali does not have the accelerated levels of DUI as Texas does. Only two are allowed as misdemeanors, the third Offense is an AUTOMATIC Felony level charge, and that's if there are no aggravating factors, like actually hitting something! But, as the Affluenza Teen QUADRUPLE fatality shows, money....TONS of money, can change things. That's the only reason I kind of questioned "who is she" earlier in the thread. She obviously was financially powerful enough, to keep her License thru those earlier offenses. Like Emelda Marcos, and all those shoes....
California DUI penalties are kind of complex because there are so many ways they can be enhanced depending on your age, age of passengers, driving record etc. They are progressive and get bad quickly. Bottom line is though people get out and license or not still drive. While courts everywhere are too lenient many times and the afflueza kid is a good example this woman between criminal and civil penalties is not going to just walk away. We have no real idea about the priors so just cant say what was up with those. For all we know she may have done hard time so we can't speculate. I will say, I have never known someone who wanted to drive, not drive just because the state took their license away. And as far as keeping them locked up for a long time? We let really bad people back on the street every single day. If we want to change that we better build a lot more prison capacity and be serious about it as a society.
Can we focus on well wishes for Jon and not turn this into a focus on the driver. She doesn't deserve any air time in this thread ! Start a new one in a Rossa or Silver if we are going to talk about dui and convictions.
I read this quote from Jon in the article posted earlier. Restoration is a long process, he said in the video. It can take a couple years, more than that, and you have to stick with it, but knowing that youre restoring something with some history to it, some significance, it just makes it a really cool experience. Reading that makes me fairly sure that Jon has the mental capacity to pull through this. He is facing a long process that requires patience and dedication. A statement like the one above is truly encouraging. He is a Bullfighter.
As much as I hope there is a long hard road ahead for Ms Choi, lets keep this thread focussed on Jon. He will need our positive support for his recovery ahead. GO BULLFIGHTER!
On top of that, when Jon realises the amount of sympathy and compassion, combined with the financial back-up, this all will for shure be a very big help and advantage for him ! I agree that the focus of this thread should be on Jon and his direct relatives, however personally I find it totally okay if someone has the need to let off some steam regarding that Choi lady. Anyone who has even the slightest compassion or understanding for this woman is a better man than I am...
