Aparently the other day, Nico Rosberg saved a 5 year old kid from drawning...he was alking around in Monaco harbour with his wife and baby when he heard the screams, he jumped in the water (seems he's a pretty good swimmer and rescued the kid, returning him to his parents.)
    Way to go Nico!!

    Good job Nico!

    Having bought up two boys, often in 'adventurous' locales I find this hard to believe;

I know either their mum or I didn't let them out of our sight in such situations at that age. **** can happen too quickly.

Happy it all turned out OK, & sounds like they got a nice tour of Nico & Vivians place.... Cool!

    Cheers,
    Ian

Wow. That's a great story and good on him for not plastering this all over Instagram, Twitter, Facebook and all other social media platforms. Humble in a good way - unlike his faux humble team mate...

It happens more often than folks think.

I saved a kid a few years ago, when the mom who was diligently watching over him, literally just took maybe 5s off him to pick up the sunglasses she dropped on the sand and bam, in an instant he was overwhelmed by a big wave and pulled out.

She panicked and started screaming, I was already in the water walking back towards the beach and i turned around and swam out to pull him back in.

I know it looks stupid, but at beaches with significant waves, parents need to use those child-leashes...those waves really can pull you out just like that.

He even refused to speak about the incident in the media at all. I like Nico more and more.

    +1

Early days yet, but if he continues to win he'll get the nod as the #1 guy and likely win it all. Good for him.

    Cheers,
    Ian

Lewis Hamilton responds to news about Nico Rosberg saving a child from drowning:

"I would have saved him quicker!" *

(*NOTE: Lewis never actually made this comment! ;) )

Good on Nico for rescuing the boy and looking after the family afterwards. That he tried to eschew publicity further proves he's a gentleman.

    All the best,
    Andrew.

How? - By jumping out the way every time Lewis Hamilton came alongside him?

Nico has always been a nice guy, that's for sure, but always a hero? - Sorry but can't see it!
