There was one at Autoitalia this year and amongst the other 488 458 360 etc it does look big but dimension wise it's actually bigger than my 456M in all except length, height included. But in this street scape even behind a Mazda3 it doesn't.
correct I did meet the owner nice guy I would like to chat more. As for the 575 this shot is an interesting angle! Image Unavailable, Please Login
Saw a nice 250 gte in verde zeltweg or another dark green around kings way in Melbourne cbd around midday. Sounded very nice.
not enough grunt, the BT50 has 470Nm, Hilux is 343. When you're towing a big enclosed car trailer, every Nm counts! plus my mate owns a couple of Mazda dealerships, so I got a great discount
Yeah, I'm hearing ya mate. A friend keeps buying new Nissan Patrols every two years because his mate owns the dealership in Gladstone. The only reason I made mention of the Hilux is because they are getting great power gains tuning them these days. Not one of those 'plug and play' diesel performance chips, but an actual dyno tune via the ECU. I am going to get my Prado tuned very soon, $1420 which gives me an extra 45HP at the wheels and another 260Nm of torque. Plus the EGR delete. My Prado has the same engine as the Hilux, the D4D so it's a massive power gain. A friend had his Hilux tuned by the same guy just over 12 months and he said it's absolutely amazing! I haven't been in it yet, but he said this is how Toyota should have built that engine. I guess you can still have your car tuned also for more power and torque, perhaps you should look into it as it will only make it easier for towing the race car around. My Father Inlaw purchased a new 2012 Holden Colorado because it had more towing capacity than a Hilux back then also. He is having his Colorado tuned by the same guy directly and is told to expect 30HP at the wheels and 150NM extra torque. Another mate is doing his V8 LC ute and was told 50HP at the wheels and an extra 290NM of torque. All very good numbers for a great price. When I get it done I will be sure to let you know. The EGR delete is one of the main reasons I am doing this also as I will be keeping this car for a very long time. I can block off the EGR now with a $10 plate off Ebay, but it will bring the check engine light on. This guy fits the EGR plate, but he removes the check engine light off the dash via the tune through the ECU.
I know someone who's had the ECU tweaked on his BT50 and got +100hp at the wheels. But... I have a 6 year extended warranty (for free) from my dealer mate and I don't want to risk voiding that. Plus it's quite punchy enough already, in a truck kinda way I waited for the 2015 model because they finally fixed the EGR issue, which was a real problem for Ranger/BT50. Interesting that Toyota has problems too.
100HP+ at the wheels!!! See how long that engine lasts! I paid the extra cash and got the 3 extra years extended warranty for my Prado, the guy who does the tuning said it does not void your warranty. Definitely sux having that EGR issue, what a total pain the ass that is! Good to hear you are enjoying your truck, I want to buy a brand new Hilux dual cab in Crystal Pearl myself. I want the colour to match Nicole's Prado.
Good story to this 348 it was given as payment to settle a what in effect is a divorce settlement plus some cash. Car needs some TLC but is mechanically sound. And the guy who owns it used to own an exhaust shop so he made his own exhaust and it looks and sounds very nice.
