This was given to be by an old car friend of mine that has since passed. I own a F430, and know it doesn't go to that ... looking for some advice on which model this aligns to, as well as a rough value. It is just sitting in my cabinets, and I might as well let someone else put it to good use.

If anyone knows what this goes to ... it will be this Forum! PS, long time owner and enthusiast, but new to the board, so be gentle :)

Sorry - no idea why the pics are upside down!

I think you're right, but I'm not sure. Online auctions and pictures show 348 / 355 / Mondial with identical pics. Crazy prices, too ... I will cut a deal to a fellow member.

Yes, some 348 and 355 got this "small" variant of the tool kit (perhaps only the "Spiders"?) although most 348 and 355 have the larger leather case model including a tyre repair bottle.
This "small" version was also used on the "Mondial T" only, not on the 3,2. So its definitively for the 1990-1995 time bracket.

In fact, the 348/355 are very interesting considering their tool kits, because I believe that at least three different models of leather cases were used.

The "small" one, which is the one here.
An "interim one", with is shorter in width but higher, and has two trays for tools, one above the other.
The "large one", which is higher, as it has the two tool trays, and the repair/inflating bottle in a gray box under the tool trays (the most common it seems).
There are also some variation in the large leather case itself, some have two leather belts to close the top, some only have rivets at the extremities of the top, no leather belts.

(maybe my favorite F-Chatters also suffering from "Acute Tool Kit syndrome" Piezo and Big Tex also have something to add...)

Looks like the toolkit that came with my 94 348 Spider.

Oddly, the most "valuable" item in the 348 upright toolkits these days is the expired "fix-a-flat", and accompanying styrene box + canvas cover. Who da thunk it?

That is the same kit used in a late 348. I have seen these with two different owners. Never seen an early 355 with one but wouldn't be totally surprised.

Find out what the belt fits. That should narrow it down. Keep in mind, if it is a 348 kit, the belt (if for alternator) had several possibilities depending on Delco or Nippondenso alternators.
