You mean it's worth that much more than the sticker price? True, but they charge that on their FFs and California Ts too which hurts because they are depreciating from the second they are purchased. BTW, I just order a Blu Scuzia with Cuoio interior California T, so I'll feel the pain in a couple years when I trade that

+1. I asked for my GTO to be delivered with CF shields but the factory declined. They said what I do when the car was delivered was up to me but no GTO would leave the factory with CF shields. My dealer apologised and said they would immediately sort when it was delivered. My response was the opposite, keep the shields as God intended; with all the marketing BS in the world I appreciated Ferrari's stance. For me now it's either no shield or the correct shield. Either way your tdf will look fabulous, a lovely spec.

yes the car will be delivered with the yellow ones. I'm just not a fan of the shields on my 12 cylinders. on my 2+2s I don't have shields but for the TDF I think the CF shields are good balance.

I hope so too, but let's also hope the world doesn't go tits up later this year, which based on a leak which in volume terms makes Snowden's look tiny by comparison , a certain big election, Brexit plus goodness knows other banana skins, I'm not overly optimistic.

Three years ago my brand new RHD GTO had slid 10% in its first year from its original price. It didn't bother me because I hadn't bought the car for profit. People quickly forget was goes up can come down real fast. So I doubt Ferrari eyes the car as free. They might have a chuckle at customers who do.

I get it, but this car is super hardcore - I mean that engine, unbelievable output - and we know how Enzo felt about V12s. If one car deserves his shield, it's the tdf :). Like I said, whatever will be magnificent.

I agree that's why I'm getting shields. maybe I'll keep the yellow ones on for 6 months and the CF ones for the other 6 months.

Silver with a red interior is a fairly rare combination. As I recall Chad ordered his 599 GTO in silver / red but there to it was a rare color combination; seldom duplicated. Made all the more rare, signed by Rubens Barrichello.

My opinion: in the old days the shields were for racing only. Then they made them optional for the street cars. The reality of the market place is many buyers want to see them on the car. I prefer the V12 without because thats a link back to the past. But if you are going to do shields, then my opinion is go with the authentic ones. I think on a car like the TDF which is more hard core and still a street car but has spiritual links back to a time when the race cars could be driven on the street/ or you could take a street car racing/ I think it works very well. But the CF shields don't compute for me. For me, its defacing the symbol of Ferrari. It actually elicits a visceral reaction in me, but then again, I am afflicted with a passion for these things...

I think it's too dark for titanio. Maybe ferro?

I know what you mean but Rockitman describes it as GT and I assume he had reason to. Also it does have that blue hue to it.

Thanks for posting that picture- I haven't seen the F12b and TDF next to each other before. It really makes you appreciate the differences. I think the color is as Traveller says- GT. I could see how you might think its Silverstone but its too blueish. I think GF would look a bit warmer but as I understand it they have a new formulation that is a drop cooler than in the past...

    You don't like GT?

I never really liked it on the 430, but what I've come to discover is the same color I might not like on one shape all of a sudden works for me on a different shape. Go figure.

That's why they have such a vast color palette to select from. For me, GT is the best looking color for an F12. GT shows the bluish hue outdoors. Indoors under flourscent light it looks almost dark silver...no blue hue like below.
