With the appreciation of the CS, I'm wondering what others think, as far as, adding the aftermarket or OEM stripe.

    helps value
    hurts value
    No change

    Thanks,

    Skipp

I guess it depends on the buyer. If someone a truly stock CS, then it might hurt the value, but personally, I like the stripes... so for me, I'd be fine with it.

if it can just be pealed off like a wrap, with no damage to the original paint I wld say no change.

Wouldn't proper installation have clear coat over decal, but you could always leave it like a decal without clear coat.

What about having it done through the dealer. More money, but IIRC can't they change the build sheet to reflect the stripe? I thought they could do that for Ferrari sanctioned mods.

If I were a collector and wanted a CS to put in a museum garage it would be one with a factory stripe.

Mine isn't going to be this car, because it doesn't have a factory stripe. I am considering adding the stripe, for my own pleasure.

The car currently has the front clip covered in clear bra. I've read that it's better to do the stripe on top of the clear bra, because placing it underneath the clear bra can create air pockets. Anyone out there have experience with this.

    Thanks for the replies,

    Skipp

+1 for stripe on top of clear bra. No problems. Not worried about it hurting value as it can be undone. I don't think removal will ever occur unless a future buyer wanted it done. The added stripe looks fantastic!!

Mine is underneath the clear bra which I think looks better and actually looks and feels like a factory stripe with a clear coat over it. No air pockets so far. I guess the only disadvantage of this is only if you ever want to remove the stripe, then you would have to remove the clear bra...However, I would NEVER remove the stripe...only for the next buyer if necessary...but then again, I would never sell this car...

Great comments that are much appreciated. Sounds like it doesn't mater whether you put it underneath or on top of clear bra.

I don't think an after-market stripe will impact value. Only put one on if you want to have a striped CS.

You can always order the factory OEM sticker stripe from Ferrari - I assume this can be used over the clear coat even though it was designed to go under it.

I added an aftermarket stripe to my CS. The stripe is on top of the clear bra. Looks great.

My stripe is on top of the clear bra. I feel trying to remove the stripe would ruin the clear bra anyways. I don't know for a fact as I've never tried.

If yours looks good underneath the clear bra and it stays looking good then that's great. I put mine on top because so many here said to do so. I'm not sure enough have been done to know which is best long term.

I still have an aftermarket Stripe I was considering putting on my CS, but never did. It's still in it's original box. I think it was $350 from F360 Performance Parts in Australia. First $200 takes it, send me a PM.

I usually don't like mods to cars, but your 360 looks really mean with the stripe and black wheels !

How does a stripe get ruined by staying in a box ?

I had one once and it the backing paper got creased as the box was a tube. And thus there was a crease along the stripe when applying

The manufacturer told me it should be hung up after I complained.

it's folded in the box. Becomes delaminated at the folds.

    Hi Jason,
You did the right thing and I'll explain why.
    First, let me explain what happens if you apply a clear bra over the top of the Stripe;
Although the Stripe is only a few microns thick, when you put the clear bra over the top, the clear won't adhere perfectly over the edge of the Stripe and because it's clear you will see the ridge and the very small air gap through the clear material, this will be quite noticeable.
However, when you put the Stripe on top of the clear bra, even if you only do half the hood, there is only a small transition point where the Stripe goes from the bra to the paint and because the Stripe is not transparent its very hard to see. If you do all of the hood in clear you wont see it at all, which is what we recommend.
If you are going to drive the car, the bra and the Stripe will get damaged in time. There is also a high gloss clear coat on the Stripe, it's thinner but fairly tough like the bra, but it's not bullet proof.
You'll probably find, that if the Stripe is put on professionally, you won't be able to get it off without damaging the bra.
At some point you may have to replace both, that's why we supply the spare.
To sum up, put the bra on first then put on the Stripe.
    Ciao
    Brenden
