The wins still count no matter what the era, player, etc....its nice to see good playing...
"The Warriors (61-6) have won an NBA-record 50 straight regular-season home games and remained a game ahead of the pace of the 1995-96 Chicago Bulls, who won a single-season-record 72 games"

As great as the 2015-2016 Warriors are, Curry's season shines the brightest, as he has really elevated his game as compared to last year's MVP season. He has truly performed "magic" almost routinely this year...So far, I have never seen anything comparable To it in my short life-time...of course he Warriors need to win the championship this year to make it the most relevant. Amazing!

Watched warriors beat spurs twice this week and have to finally admit even as a huge mj 72 win fan that dubs are for real. They do everything so so well. Only flaw is occasional turnover.

curry is most effortless elite athlete ive ever seen. Mj, lebron, magic, bird, miller, etc all had to work hard. Curry can just dribble behind his back and chuck up a 30 foot bank shot or a 15 foot one handed floater no problem. And his form isnt even consistent. But the resulting basket is. Amazing

Curry's work ethic is legendary...He is the first one out there and the last one to leave...He has had to work for everything that he has attained in his career. You would think that being the son of an NBA star who grew up in North Carolina, would afford you the luxury of being recruited as a blue chip prospect at big schools like UNC, Duke, NC state, or even Wake Forest. Steph Curry had to play for little Davidson College because none of the big boys in his back yard wanted him. He became a legend after his performance in the NCAA tournament back in 2008, as little Davidson, a 10th seed, advanced to the elite 8 and barely lost to eventual champion Kansas. He ended up playing a full 4 years of college ball, unlike most other blue chip athletes. The rest is history that Mr. Curry and the GS Warriors will continue to write...

I noticed him hanging on to that ball after the game tonight too.

Hopefully he'll need to save another on Wednesday.... Even the naysayers will then at least have to acknowledge what they've achieved.

    Go Dubs!

    Cheers,
    Ian

If picking best point guard single season of all time -

One of magics early 80s, steph 16, and who else? Steph beats out nashs back to back mvp. Cant think of others...

might have to say steph is best shooter of all time also. Can create on his own vs miller and other greats who needed screens

One game left on Wed to have the most win record, nice seeing them beat the Spurs to tie the record as the Spurs have had their home win record broken..they are second to the Warriors in home wins...
Steph and the team can bring it home..

All tickets for Wednesday's game have been sold out since just after Sunday's game. The average resale ticket for Wednesday's game at Oracle is $1500...Standing room only tickets are going on resale for $500! All to be a part of history, to possibly say you were there when the Dubs for 73!

When you speak of season, are you referring to regular season + playoffs + finals or are you simply just referring to the regular season?

If you are speaking of season in its entirety, we have some ways to go before we can draw a conclusion.

If we're comparing regular season, he's right up there with Wilt, but being a fan of the game for a long time, I personally don't see the NBA as being competitive or dynamic pre-1980's. Wilt played in an era with much fewer teams and much less competitive teams. He scored 100 points on a team prob equivalent to a high school team by today's standards. There's a video of a lil white kid scoring 135 pts in a high school game. Lots of padded stats during the regular season imho. If you compare Wilt's stats to more competitive teams in the playoffs (when it matters most), his numbers are far off from his regular season stats.

I'm not a big basketball fan but I do watch a game every once in awhile. Saw a documentary on Curry awhile ago.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U69E64byTDo

It is truly incredible to watch him play, almost surreal. It's always fun to compare but that is not always accurate. Like mentioned here the game before was not as competitive and a different style. I say the same for hockey, people like Ovechkin are scoring machines. They will struggle to beat records of the past days where goalie equipment was smaller and the science of a goaltender has completely changed.

Without a doubt I think S Curry is truly a legend in the making. Not only is he putting up points but he is putting them up against "legendary players" like Bryant, Durant, Lebron, and more.

BUT to truly be the best of all time this production has to remain steady in the years to come. He is jaw dropping to watch how he hits three points.

Tonight could be the record breaking for most win in a season of 73 games as they are tied right now with the Chicago Bulls of 72 games. And, very possible Curry can rich the 400 3s tonight, we will see.

An interesting situation tonite. We have the greatest TEAM effort in history (regular season) happening in the same night we have the most INDIVIDUAL player (sorry not a Kobe fan) playing his final game - yawn, look at me!! Warriors rightfully stealing the mamba's attention seeking final game. Call it karma?

    All eyes on the Warriors!

    What a night!

Another record; He made 402 3 pointers on the season. Staggering.

And they really appear to be having fun doing it. Certainly the fans were having fun tonight. Fabulous to watch greatness unfolding.

They're playing like they're from another planet right now. Hopefully they can keep it going thru the playoffs.

    Cheers,
    Ian

    Hater gotta hate...ha ha...

When I started this thread, I did not say that Steph Curry was the greatest player of all time. That is obviously, almost unanimously given to Jordan. What I asked is if others thought that Curry was having one of he best, if not the best single season performance. What I was trying to establish at that time was that Curry should be amongst the conversation for this. Since I had posted the initial post a couple of months ago, Curry has played even better and had led the Warriors to THE BEST SINGLE SEASON RECORD OF ALL TIME...RESPECT...Talk to me when the Bulls have 73 Wins in one season...oh you know what?
