IIRC he paid something like 60k for it. I like it.
Now, considering it's actually an LP400 with LP400S flares and spoiler, I'd say he possibly quintupled his investment. Not sure if the original LP400 engines had serial numbers to match their chassis, but I'm sure one could be found for this car if really wanted. I doubt he'd take it off the wall though.
I have an excavator and a Harbor Freight strap, I can get it out! But I think it is easier to lower it and bring it out the sliding door opening below it..

Great retro style photo of your S3 LP400S, almost real car porn from that angle! The series 3 is a car I don't recall reading much about. From memory it has basically the body as the later 5000S? I'd be interested to know what it is about this particular car and/or this paricular variant that you are so enamoured of?
Cool angle, first Countach i ever drove was white/white ser3 car,in Munich ca 1984.belonged to a gypsy, had tiny persian floormats. Looking at your car i noticed the big side markers and wing/spoiler devices below the lights?was this car originally intended for a certain market?
yes, it is a 400S with high suspension and body but rest same as S2 (narrow front track, 4000cc engine, 2 distributors, light magnesium campagnolo wheels, old style interior with simple tunnel flat door panels...., big adjustable wing, etc..) i like the 4 liter countach my fav are the lowbody "S" cars, i had one for some 4 years but honestly at 190 cm i could not fit really well in the S1 i had before and the low ride height is fantastic to look at but also a issue on some roads to drive the car without stress to me so to me the best option was the S3 car...the "easier to live with" countach 4000. with this i do not mean is a practical car at all!...FAR from it but compared to S1 and S2 a bit more space inside and rised suspensions help it drives more or less the same as the S1 but i can fit perfectly in it and i do not have to plan to roads before driving it. i had many sport cars from diablo 2wd to 308 dry sump, 348 ts challenge and gtb turbo intercooler....but this is for some reasons is still the best one to me: great look, awesome sound, nice to drive, still quick and as all 4000 lamborghini very reliable....i also love the color combination of white-red on white wheels
this car is one of the cars imported to US by Jas Rarewala one of may be 4 left with the double wing and rear boomerang bumper ...same as the cannonball car i think is the only S3 left in this configuration so i keep it as it is i plan to put the front wing on someday thanks to Joe for finding me this nice car! Excellent. By the looks of the tilt of the rear wing, you were looking at high speed, high downforce runs
yes! time flies...as the countach does! i hope so. i thank you for your help on this car. one of my best purchase

Definitely Cannonball, my car had a front wing( wich i quickley removed and currently recides in my attic,) but was simpley bolted thru the front lid.
spring has finally come in Italy countryside of Emila...is there a more appropriate setting for a countach? Image Unavailable, Please Login
Can any thing beat the rear view of a white Countach? In white the car looks so wide with it's massive flair extensions who's profile narrows out and tucks in under the quarters so beautifully (especially if black cocking is utilized instead of the body color). That attribute is lost on the non-white cars as it blends with the body color far more. So what part of the under carriage tends to rub/scrape the road on the low bodies? Is it the front end portion that's the problem? The front spoiler that get's it? Geno
Gene, I agree on the white. it looks the countach was made to be white this said, i am a fan of "unusual" colors and i love green countach or different colors like brown and other rarely used shades yes, in my personal experience with low bodies (over 4 year of S1 ownership) is the front spoiler that tend to scrape most. you need to be very carefull the later cars: S3, 5000S and QV are a bit less nice to look at but more easier to live whith. one more white countach image on the road for you Image Unavailable, Please Login
