only in right turns, what might it be?
High sped right turns? Low speed right turns? Right U turns? Foot off the gas/coasting? Foot on the gas? Any type of pavement? Vibration in Steering wheel? Vibration in whole car? You did not provide nearly enough information.
Man, that could be a bunch of different things. As Brian said...... need more details. An easy thing you can start with, even if not too mechanically inclined is this ---- Jack up the car at each of the four corners (one at a time is safest and easiest) enough to pick the wheel off the ground. Then grab it with both hands (at the tire tread), and give it a firm back and forth (in and out of plane) wiggle --- try it both with hands at 3 & 9 o'clock and also at 12 & 6 o'clock. See if you detect any play or hear any clunking. That right there will give you a lot of useful info to post here and lead others to help you diagnose the problem. Make sure the parking brake is "off" when you do this...... so, then also make sure you block the wheels still on the ground to secure the car.
Low speed right turns? Yes Right U turns? Yes Foot off the gas/coasting? Yes Foot on the gas? More Extreme Any type of pavement? Any Vibration in Steering wheel? None Vibration in whole car? Yes, seems right, down low, not sure if front or back. Will change the following: engine mounts, Shot one wheel bearing, loose, one ball joint, loose, and differential oil. will advise, fingers crossed You did not provide nearly enough information.[/QUOTE]
I'll let the expert techs here weigh in on this, but I would suspect that..... If the differential has reached the point where it has "chattered", then it may very well have been permanently damaged too ? Depends on how much wear has occurred over how much usage, but, in general, mechanical drive differentials do not tolerate this too well. Hope yours is okay and that you caught it early enough.
