Yep, taking lessons from Kobyashi maybe but I would put it down to Vettel getting spooked and needed an excuse for hitting Kimi
AJ was the racing steward today so he would be the last person to censure Kyvat for driving like he did most of his career
his response is fine, the move by fiat is legit but trying to avoid a tangle but still ran into teammate make anyone up in flames..even fiat agree it's a little extreme but it's racing louis didnt have a good race, good that he know when to shut up
What?? I don't understand what you mean. Making things up? He needs to stay out of trouble, and he didn't. There seems to be an art to fighting through backmarkers....today, he clearly didn't have it. It's not like I'm the only one whose commented on him having trouble in traffic. Oh well...next time.
Lewis Hamilton has the previous two weekends pretty much laid the foundation to be Mercedes #2 for the remainder of 2016. He does not think in a championship and season context. He completely unnecessarily shut the door on Bottles in Bahrain and was lucky to get away. After a series of misjudgements this weekend he then decided to not only start from the grid but also not keep himself out of trouble getting himself into an again unnecessary accident. The remainder of today's race of LewHam was mediocre at best. He was given a safety car and then threw his chance for a drive on the podium away and started moonwalking. He was splendidly capable last year of mastering the art of keeping Rosberg in the right distance to ruin his tyres. He seems to entirly have forgotten that this can happen to him, too... agreed. I didn't quite get what the safety car was about, either... yep Absolutely. I never understood why Rosberg so consistently went on the same strategy as Hammy, to then chow his tyres. I think it was Merc directive to avoid on-track fighting for position... Agreed, I am glad I fell out of bed in time for this. This race was thrilling from the start to the finish! Chinese GP consistently impress, one of the best of the new tracks. McLaren again out of the points Very solid results for RBR and good recovery by Ricci. Good recovery by the Ferraris after turn 1. Vettel kept his car going with damaged wing and Kimi, while half way through looking disinterested, had a strong finish. Williams seems to continue to fall back in the pecking order... So does Force India. Does anyone know why Haas was 'underperforming' this weekend? And how Vettels overtake into the pits legal? Wasn't that under safety car? Kai Ebel. German dude at RTL. This was his polished formal side. He is usually much more 'colorful', go google him. I had a good laugh when I read strange cat. Very fitting.
Not much he could have done with the Sauber driving into him, however I have no idea why they chose to start on the grid instead of the pits. That was a very optimistic bet,at best. Start from the pits,, avoid the carnage, and he's probably on the podium.
Spot on....and that's not even 20/20 hindsight....people everywhere were saying that before the race.
Hamilton's decision. If I remember correctly they said starting from the pits sets you back by 8 seconds against the risk to getting into trouble when starting with the crowd. He made the call to start from the grid. His call, his pain. When those in good cars, with the season in mind, start from the back you often see them just taking it veeery easy through the first turns and then start overtaking thereafter, when the storm has calmed.
weird...a couple of hours after the race and I can't find one tweet or instagram from Lewis. Is he ok?
Like the LH and Bottas mix at Bahrain. Leave a door open someone will come in. Nice race. Well done Nico. Well done Vettel to recover but Im not yet convinced Ferrari have Mercedes-esque pace. Watch out for Red Bull. Best chassis period and with just a bit more power Im thinking they might challenge Ferrari.
+1 Very impressive performance from them. Generally all motors are much closer in power and it is great to see the entire field being much closer with the back markers having PUs from this century. Looking at RBR performance it makes one wonder how horrible the Renault PU must have been in the last two years.

100% sloppy driving on seb's part, and took out Kimi in the process. Iceman is not amused. Then he tried to push bottas out, lost his wing again! It was like watching high stakes bumper cars in the back while rosberg cruises to another dominant merc-powered victory.
Lol at the vettel "whining". If that's a whining argument then some people haven't watched American TV. Both made their point then let it go. You can't win a race in the first corner but you can lose it. Can't blame a young kapyat for going for it though
Disagree. Kimi locked up, pinched vettel on his recovery attempt, then jumped back on track in traffic and cause another accident to Hamilton. If anyone was sloppy it was him.
Kimi revovered back from the outside, Kvyat stuck his nose ahead on the inside. The wise thing to do for Vettel in that moment would have been to pull back. But that moment came into existence only because Vettel allowed himself to be carried to a more outer line and not cover against Kvyat on the inside. I would say this is a very normal racing incident in a tumultuous start. But Vettel was the creator of it and he was able to avoid it somewhat.
Correct. DK did nothing wrong, even though I did not like the result for Ferrari. There was a gap and he filled it. Seb just got caught as the meat in the sandwich and had nowhere to go. Everyone is making a big deal about the post race discussion. Sure Vet made a point about the incident, but it was more about mind games and putting down a marker for future races than genuinely being upset with DK because he knows he would have done the same. DK had the right response as well and did not apologize. That's racing.... Exciting race for all except Ros....
