The area I frequent and lived in Washington State only has a few choices for burgers, Red Robin, Applebee's, and a couple local places. I'll ask for rare and always get medium. I don't complain, I'm happy not getting an overcooked burger. One of the local places also has a location right across the border. I sometimes go there just for a good restaurant burger.

    Thinking beef soft tacos.

Forgive the format - would rather just plunk down a recipe.

Also, forgive that I haven't eaten, or made this particular dish. Closest I've had was salmon & squid ink linguini - which was amazing.

Plan on making this when I can...

That looks good. I've had squid, its good. Smoke salmon is basically a pacific northwest staple. I've had similar on a regular Bagel. A favorite sushi roll is the Philadelphia. Basically cream cheese and smoked salmon.

^ One of the best meals I've ever eaten was squid ink pasta in Venice. I think it was a combo of location (block or so off St Mark's square), company (my lovely wife), and weather (about 30 F cooler than the Texas we left).

So, where does one buy squid ink?

I was watching DDD one day and the chicken looks look's like a recipe where the chicken was roasted and then tossed into a deep fryer for extra crispy skin just before being served, it looked delicious.

I cooked too much taco meat. Either have it for lunch or dinner.

Forget the name. In Cuba they have these fast food chicken places. Very small shacks almost like a hot dog stand. The chicken is surprisingly good.

    Nachos?

I made a tuna melt in the panini press. Haven't used this thing in a while...

Nachos would have been a good idea. Made more soft tacos. Wanted to use more Tortillas so they don't go bad. Have three left. Tomorrow I'll get a rotisserie chicken and Costco, make chicken salad wraps.

I have a press as well. Maybe while at Costco I'll pick up some tuna steaks.

    Tonight is sushi take out.

Trying to empty out the freezer a bit, so I finished off my world infamous fish burgers. See post # 2043 for the recipe, if you dare! ;)

Topped with homemade raspberry miso vinaigrette and crushed red pepper. Served with three bean salad (from a can, one of the mother in law's random grocery purchases). Finishing off the sangria.

Chicken looks good but what's with all the onion? Pickled onion or just raw?

    Pizza! Pizza! ;)

LOL. Same here. As I recall, they didn't deliver. Used to be one on the way home from work when I was a young single man. It wasn't bad. I'd alternate between them and call Dominoes. Then I got married, and had to up my fancy!

Raw and with Cuban garlic mojo. LOL, there used to be a take out Versailles at Universal City Walk by the movie theaters. I can't even imagine watching a movie within 10 feet of someone who had gone there for a meal!

Had to look up if we even have Little Caesars in Canada. We do. I was a big Pizza Hut fan most of the 90's. Back in the late 90's the company with the master franchise right for Dominos went public. The stock tanked and turned into a big mess. My Dad was brought in to turn the deal around. Net I do know the guy who holds the master franchise rights in Canada now. He also owns a large number of American locations. Next time you go into a Dominos, usually they have a plaque on the wall "this location owned and operated by" If it says Pizza King, its owned by the Canadian guy.

Change of plans. Brother and sister in law are grocery shopping. Meeting them in Richmond for Chinese food. Id say the restaurants name, but their signs are in Chinese only. Richmond city council did pass a resolution that signs must be 50% English, but businesses ignore this. Even Budweiser.

Budweiser ignores Richmond?s Chinese-sign standards | Vancouver Sun

I'm glad I don't need public transportation in Richmond because all the transit signs and ads are in Chinese!

Went out with friends to a new place in Southlake called Malai Kitchen.

    http://www.malaikitchen.com/#!southlake/com7

It was very good. Best green papaya salad I've had outside of the Hawaiian islands. Wife and I shared chicken & broccoli noodles. Our friends had Thai chicken wings and Drunken noodles, and generously let us have a taste. Everything was good...T

    Thai is pretty good.

Why is Texas so inexpensive real estate wise? My brother keeps sending me listings from all over Texas.
