I thought LH was so good that he good drive through the field and win from any where ... lol :D.

I think his true ability, which is very good but not Senna, MS, Fangio or Moss like, has been shown.

Vettel should follow the lead of Arrivabene and his words on the first turn incident today - Ferrari's Arrivabene won't blame Kvyat for Chinese GP incident - F1 - Autosport

Ferrari Formula 1 team principal Maurizio Arrivabene feels there is nothing to gain from apportioning blame in the Chinese Grand Prix collision involving Sebastian Vettel, Kimi Raikkonen and Daniil Kvyat.

Vettel and Raikkonen had to settle for second and fifth in the Shanghai F1 race after coming together at the first corner, with Vettel furiously blaming his Red Bull successor Kvyat for pushing him wide into his team-mate.

Asked if he had the same opinion as Vettel, Arrivabene replied: "I think pointing the finger at somebody isn't correct.

"Kvyat was doing his race coming into the curve at high speed but Seb and Kimi were doing the same thing in Kvyat's position.

"Of course if you want to defend your position you move away but unfortunately Kimi was there.

"But this is racing, it's not monopoly.

"It was an accident. I think they are part of the race but of course when you have your two drivers in a collision with each other it's not good.

"What can I say more than that?"

Kurt I was also taken aback when Seb pulled that pit entrance pass and I think he, not the team, should be penalized.

Any way they are on the parade lap for the re-run......

This probably did not help him make progress - Hamilton had to come in for one of five pitstops for a new front wing after the melee, with part of his old wing stuck under the W07's floor for the remainder of the grand prix.

I'm liking Marlboro man more & more.

Seems like he 'gets it' in ways many of the others just don't.

As long as sweater boy keeps out of the way, & seems he does to date, they'll continue to improve IMO.

    Cheers,

    Why?

What he did was perfectly legal, as per the regulations already posted by Maulaf.... Copied here for your convenience. Take particular note of 39.8.f.....

The Mercedes team boss confirmed that the front wing was damaging the bargeboard and floor of Hamilton's car, severely affecting the aerodynamics.

+1 A rational and accurate view he has. Vettel didnt need to say a word. His, Vettel, post race interaction prior to the podium was beneath him and his multiple titles. An almost entitled attitude we fault others for.

I noted my disappointment with him for that BS earlier.

Good for Danny for 'standing up' to him.

To Seb's credit, by the time of the podium presentation and interview he seemed to have realized that he was too quick to judge Kvyat.

We have the luxury of multiple replays and camera angles, while he had only his memory of a very brief incident. I bet he'll come out at some point and concede that it was truly a "racing incident'.

    Fair comments.

Not sure he'll actually "concede" anything, just let it drop would be my advice if I were his publicity guru.....

Exactly. Right away everyone starts with the whiner...cry baby crap. Gimme a break. I'm glad these guys are passionate enough to air their grievances. It means...unlike a lot of pro sports... They're not just there to ride around and collect a paycheck.

It was a risky move by Kyvat. Same as Bottas last week. You race off on the inside with no hope of making that turn effectively and keeping what you gain. In both cases, I believe the contact that was made probably limited a much worse result. A racing move...sure...but still risky. If Seb is pissed...so what? Let him be pissed. I like seeing some raw emotion play out in an otherwise quite sanitized sport.

Vettel hadn't seen the video of the incident at that stage....maybe later when he did he might have wished he hadn't made such a fuss.

    Kyvat didn't crash, Vettel did.

    End of story.

Oh, and saying "well you were lucky this time" is pretty lame. If Vettel made the pass we would be calling him a hero.

More like a non-story. Correctly, the broadcast director ignored Rosberg almost entirely during the race and focused the coverage on the many close and intense battles throughout the rest of the field. Forget Rosberg - this was a fantastic race!

A picture is worth a thousand words.
It's all the fault of the Russian guy that had his entire car ahead of him and 0.5-1m to the right.

Racing incident, more Vettel's fault than anyone's if blame must be apportioned.

It's uncharacteristic of Vettel to not accept responsibility for his mistakes, so perhaps it was just the adrenaline talking. I suspect he'll recant his lambaste of Kvyat after he calms down and reexamines the video footage.

    All the best,
    Andrew.

I think Vettel didn't expect anyone passing him on the inside at this point, and was spooked by it. He used that as an excuse for the incident.

Sounds like only Vettel can use the adrenaline excuse. Any other driver would have been crucified for running his mouth on national tv and shifting all the blame on a guy that had ZERO responsibility for the incident. Anyone with half a brain would say I have no comment or I need to review the tapes.

Are you actually reading any of these posts, or are you just mouthing off because you have an agenda?

I think it's been pretty well established on here that what Vettel thought happened at the time and what he will think after watching the video will likely be different.

Anyway, it's hardly the first time Vettel makes dumb comments or does something dumb.

I've said for a long time that Lewis and Vettel are mentally weak under certain circumstances. Maybe they all are, but we don't get to see the others as often.

Sure, he ran off into the distance, as pretty much expected.

But there were some *epic* battles back thru the field.

    Good job by the director.

    Cheers,
    Ian
