The location of the black varies as the model evolved from carb to early injected to end of the run injected versions. This particular car without boxer trim had black hinges from new on the body with the red hinge half on the door only. Im used to seeing the hinge tips taped off before black so when you look in the door jamb of a finished assembled car you only see body colour regardless of boxer trim or not. This you'll see half and half but thats how it came. You'll see other production flaws once the tape is off that are then hidden as the car is assembled but its how a production car was so im doing my best to recreate that.

    Looks good...

That is the same texture I've been looking for on my '90 TR air dam. How 'bout sharing your secret formula! :)

Shame on FoS for not duplicating this OEM texture while still charging stupid money! Never again!

Vincenzo I feel bad, I do. I love to help but some things I just wont share because of the level of aggravation and 3am cold sweats I went through. Finding the modern product to use in place of Ferrari's, the gun to apply it, the amount of air pressure (Im assuming ferrari's was an airless process) and how to hold my tongue just right to get it to look correct was through a lot of trial and error. I wouldn't even sell the info. I share a lot but thats one of the trade secrets I just cant, im sorry.

Fair enough. Thanks for being up-front.

If I was local to your place of business, I'd be at your door - but distance makes it impractical.

Thanks for sharing what you can! Both you, Rifledriver and other 'pro' input is much appreciated.

    It looks great!

When I first received my TR and saw the blacked out parts!! I thought this looks like a kit car? But then they were mostly hand built.

Polished but with some peel left, we could make it perfect but that would be wrong and very hard to keep looking that way which isnt fun.

Some minor black finishing touches and the rims are now painted (new TRX's waiting).

Front bumper blacked out as per original.

Rims get tires then Ill do the stencils for the lettering. This way if a rim was accidentally marked during a tire install I haven't wasted my time putting the Ferrari script on the rim.

Duplicated the detail in the rear inner fenders where the brake ducts were taped off roughly before the undercoat went over the red. You wont see this once the tank access panel goes in but it matters to me that we dont just ignore some of the details you cant see later.

Newman, am I correct that the upper dash/vent area is tan leather? If so was that the way it came to you? I only ask because my TR upper dash/vent area is tan and I get a fair amount of reflection on the windshield. I ended up custom cutting a piece of dark brown felt and laying it on top of the vent area like an old fashioned dash topper. Works like a charm.
