The F1 87 should be the model for limiting front and rear wings.

I remember those cars well. the F-1 85 154C was a very good car -but development got away from Ferrari mid season and Prost waked the championship. the 86 car was just complete crap... good looking but crap. so when the 87 car came out It looked so much better and clean and neat... but alas just could not compete with McLaren. in 88 it was the same thing. good looking car - and sounded great. apparently its a hand full to drive with huge turbo lag, and when it comes in - its all over the place.

There is a Corse Clienti owner in Fla, who has one and he's driven it at Road Atlanta a couple of times... he says that its just way too physical for him to put in a good time, but the Ferrari guys think that it would easily set a new lap record. ( this was several years ago)

That's not just the case for the F187, saw multiple F1's at a Corse Cliente event at Spa from various era's. Almost all of them went through Eau Rouge half throtle, shifts in the earlier manual cars often not as smooth/with delays. I doubt some of them even get enough heat in the tyres to make them work properly.

I totally agree... if I had an F-1 car - there would be no way I could - would try to drive the thing at 10/10ths. or even 5/10ths... but it would be fun.

I think the newer cars with all the aero and computers are a bit easier... but YOU have to drive them hard just to get them to stick.

    were I to have the $$$ I'd have a 1990 641 ex Prost... but I doubt I'd fit.

Just look at the simple beauty back then----love it! Some of my all-time favorite F1 cars.

I have no doubt it could storm Road Atlanta. If I didn't feel I was in good enough shape to push a little, I'd start hitting the gym. It would be very rewarding to feel some of the upper envelope.
