That's a nice car above. I would think 263-265 would be a good price but obviously lots of other forum members would say this car should be selling for 229k. But not sure how many of those people actually have a 458 so it really depends on how much you are willing to pay

 

Smart move not buying the 25k mile car. Why compromise when there are others available for not much more money which will give you flexibility when you sell. Selling a high mile F car is like trying to sell a boat or used furniture. When you want out, you have to take less and sometimes much less than you want. A car like that could possibly eliminate. 75% of the potential buyers and you would have to drastically lower your acceptable price to compensate and compete with other cars. Keep looking. It is half the fun!

 

I have just put a deposit on a 2012 458 with 16km on the clock for $135,000 seems like a steal to me! I live in Dubai.

Have come from a Audi R8 and was like a kid in a candy shop when took the 458 for a test drive!

 

Anyone have any updated prices they are looking at for used 458s (non-speciale)

My concern is that I could get a 488 for that amount. Maybe add a few options and get a 2016 488 spider for $300k. I was hoping to get the 458 spider for low 200's do they exist? Will the prices come down since now the 488 are available.

Where are you going to get a 488 spider for $300k? The coupes are $350k! 2015 458 spiders are still in the $300k. I haven't seen 458 spiders near the low $200k. I just bought a 2014 458 spider nicely opinioned for $270k seemed like the best deal I could find without spending a year shopping.

Maybe without any options - and the bigger issue is when........unless you're very high up on your dealers list, you'll wait a couple of years minimum.

 

I guess you haven't bought a Ferrari before. There are 458 spiders in 210-220 range but they have 20,000 miles.

 

Wait list for a 488 spider is 12-18 months for me. More likely 18. That's with buying multiple cars from the same Ferrari dealer. For a first time buyer it might be 24 months so it will be difficult for you to get a 488 spider. Used ones will be marked up 50-75k at least during the first year so you are looking at 375+ for a 488 spider in the used market in the us

To provide a data point to those shopping for a 458 these days, I offer the following:

My 2015 Grigio Ferro and couio car had full carbon interior, LEDs, racing seats, mirrored stitching, upgraded stereo, diamond cut wheels and other options. List was about $303K. It had about 3,900 miles on it.

Just sold for $275K, which I was fine for me. It took about 4 weeks to sell.

Data point: just sold my 2015 458 Italia with 532 miles for $4,000 ABOVE MSRP. A B O V E.

So, all the people on here saying that 458's will lose value...my butt they are.

So, why is this? In short, I looked at the 488 today and I think it looks worse, has a tiny engine, and sounds...not as good. The dealership wanted $50k above Msrp So, the 458's look very attractive right now. But, what would I know?

 

Wow, that's really good! Congrats. Did you sell to dealer or private? I tried to sell my 13 red Spider with 5K miles and they tried to short change me for $235K. I declined.

I guess I don't understand why it matters if one sells private or not. The buyer pays the same for the care either way, presumably. Whatever it's worth to them, they pay that, I suppose.

And majority of the time for the buyer it's for tax benefits from a private party versus a dealer.

 

Advantage for (private) buyer: 10% or more off; problem for the (private) buyer: no guarantee at all

Because the seller has to pay commission. 10 - 15%. Thats a lot if money.
