Autosport are reporting engine rules agreement too now
By the same token, you shouldn't assume that all F1 followers are interested in the hi-tec side of F1; most people, I think, are actually interested in the RACING itself. If the increase complexity is working against the racing, the fans will lose interest. F1 has to decide if it organises a engineers championship or a drivers championship.
The engineers championship now is really a battle between Mercedes and Ferrari. Renault is far behind, and Honda ... The other teams cannot compete: they are just customers getting inferior engines. Sauber, Williams, Haas, Toro Rosso, Manor or Force India will only get the crumbs. The drivers championship is really becoming a misnomer, since some of the best players do not have access to competitive hardware.

I didn't and don't... I quite intentionally limited my posting to my personal opinion...as indicated by the emphasis on the words "I" and "my." "Sounds good" to one person is hearing damage to another. "Sounds fine" to me is too quiet for others... My only point was/is: by all means, have an opinion... just don't automatically assume that everybody shares that opinion. It's not spec. racing and we're not spec. fans.
Mclaren appear to support these new rules and disagree with the negative impact on passing - Eric Boullier: 2017 rule changes will allow more overtaking in F1 | F1 News
BS!! Have you ever heard a Ferrari Dino or an Alfa Romeo GTV6 or even my 156v6. Wonderful engines. What F1 have done wrong is the included angle of 90 degrees is simply wrong!, it should be 60-ish or 120 degrees. Pete
Why have they made the 2017 car even LONGER? They are already very long cars. Confused. Pete ps: BTW the grooved tyres were not just (?) to reduce cornering speed but to improve passing as the theory was that when you go to pass you go off the clean part of the track onto dirty areas (dirtied by rubber lumps) the grooves tyres would deal with this better than full slicks.
