As you can see from the position of Ricci's car if Hamilton tried to take the corner he would have hit him. Ricci's car was positioned towards the bollard I note LH saying that the mechanics that worked on his car and Nicos have swapped for this year. Wonder why Image Unavailable, Please Login
kVYAT IS CRAP....he should be driving a sccoter not na f.1...a bag full of rublos can buy you place in f.1 but surely can't buy talent...he's fast at times but nothing else, sure hope he'll get sacked next year...
That's not the issue. The issue is that he made a half hearted attempt at the corner, then as soon as he RB went wide he went full throttle, that's where the time was gained.
This means that for the last 2 years Nico had ****ty mechanics, that'swhy Elton was able to beat him...
I wonder if more like this happens soon if they bump up Verstappen even earlier than 2017. I like Kvyat, but today was dumb as ****.
The only places he gained were on Vettel and Kvvyat who then crashed out anyway so no advantage gained. If you cant take a corner due to cars crashing into eachother you have no choice but to go around the bollard as did 3-4 other cars. Well Nico's mechanics seemed to do a fine job on his car - over the last 2 years he had less difficulties than Lewis. Why are they so bad at working on his car now? Image Unavailable, Please Login
+1 My first thought during the race. Hamilton very eagerly taking a short cut. No, first picture of the corner shows he was behind both the RedBulls, both of the Ferrari's, the Williams's and Perez. He didn't even try to make the corner, plus the crashes were not on his side of the track and followed after he made the decision to take the shortcut. And the static picture that you've shown doesn't present speed differences. And to make it even easier to understand, some of the cars in front of him in the first picture (in the first corner, Hamilton on the outside), are suddenly driving behind him on the run-off area (second picture), when he leaves it. Which means Hamilton exploited a situation not their to be exploited in the first place and again race control was asleep. As always in situations involving Hamilton. Subsequently; the static pictures that you've shown of Hamilton leaving the run-off area doesn't show the speed differences. Lucky Louis strikes again.
I watched the first two laps. Crazy first corner. Makes me wonder, if the FIA was really stupid by banning the T car. Imagine if I were an average earning fan, paid thousands of dollars for travel fee, accommodation, food, ticket, etc, only to watch my fav. driver's race last for 200 metres. I never understood how banning the T car would cut costs. There's hundred of ways to cut costs. Banning the T car isn't logic to begin with. looks like i hardly missed anything..another Merc win. Oh well. What's new.
Kvyat left room for two cars on his outside even as he "swung wide". Both Ferrari's went into that corner so hot and fast they were making tire smoke under braking. They charged in too hard, and wrecked themselves.
I would say you take a big chance !! What about the boxing fan travelling half the world to see his idol knocked out after 30 secondes? Same thing. At least in a GP, you still have a lot to watch for the next 53 laps.
A race would have needed to be red flagged for the driver to take the T car and actually be part of the race. No red flag, or just a SC, they can still take part but where so far behind that it partaking wouldn't have made an ounce of difference.
Pedro, A bag of roubles today buys you Much less than three years ago. Probably not even a Toro Rosso seat... Rgds
You are over-reacting. Today Kvyat had some brain fade; that happens to anyone from time to time. He didn't suddenly become a bad driver because he made one mistake; the guy is fast and consistent most of the time. Ricciardo has a job to catch up with him...
