    A very harsh judgement ...

Some people adore(d) him - mostly when he was at Ferrari - and you can read on some posts that he was the best on the grid.

I don't like his personality; he always sulks.

Vettel lifted slightly in reaction to Perez, who looked wobbly through Turn 3. Kvyat was quite a way behind and just didn't react or looked elsewhere, shortly after he hit Vettel...

Kyvat was driving like a tosser, Raikkonen did well for third and was but 6 seconds behind Elton at the end and gotta feel sorry for Seb, good to see Grosjean and both McLarens in the points.

As for some of the posters here, can they not see that their excuses for Elton's performance are double edged swords. Stuff that if done by Nico would lead to their cries of he should be banned from the sport but when done by Elton is simple discounted for patsy reasons. FWIW Pitpass stated in their race report "Out on the podium Rosberg echoes Schumacher during the glory days, Raikkonen reverts to 'Ice Man' stance and Hamilton looks as miserable as its possible to look under such circumstances." And I think that is a good summary.

It was predictable if you were only watching the front three cars. There was some pretty good racing further back.

    All the best,
    Andrew.

I agree. A race is made of several fights down the order, not only among leaders.

Maybe that not so well known drivers are of no interest to some watching the race, I don't know.

Kyvat is reckless. He hit Vettel twice. I guess he wanted to make absolutely clear that he will get ahead no matter what. He doesn't have the patience to use skill and strategy. He doesn't have the patience to wait and plot a skillful pass. The race has more than one lap.

    He is stupid and dangerous.

And unlike common wisdom & the rose tinteds, it has pretty much always been so.

Only rarely do more than 1 or 2 teams have a really legitimate shot at it every other weekend.

    Cheers,
    Ian

After playing bumper cars, the race wasn't all that exciting. Couple of mid pack passes and action, but once the safety car went in and bottas was caught sleeping it was over.

After Vettel's crash, I knew that it would be a boring race. Truthfully, I fell asleep during the remaining of the race. Did I miss anything?

Do what I did this morning.

Got up, went to the garage did a wipe down of the Scuderia and GT4, then took the pooch out on a walk, then chilled in the beautiful sf morning weather in the yard practicing my putting on the green, while getting all my updates via fchat, and watching a few youtube highlight clips on my phone.

Didn't even watch the race, got to focus on other interesting things and I'm all current!

It was as much about available fuel as tires. Nico had the luxury of cruising and had fuel a-plenty left to spend at the end of the race. Kimi had pushed through the race and had to conserve at the end, and Lewis had way overdone it .... hence the [cough cough] .... water pressure issue - obvious coded message about available fuel.

Well done on sitting on the edge of your seat at the start...and leaping a couple of feet into the air when Seb crashed, ......and that was all at lap 1...never mind what happened for the rest of the race.

Not EVERY lap can be exciting, you know!

Most people don't watch F1 to see Manor battle it out with Sauber for 20th place. We watch to see who comes in the Top 3 which are the only 3 positions that get on the podium.

    - 2

There is a massive difference between 1 or 2 teams.

    1 team = no battle.

    2 teams = battle.

I think Danny Fiat's pre race comments have been taken into context, when the accident occurred. I believe he was saying that he needs to teach someone a lesson. I can't recall who though.

I didn't watch a single lap of the race. Got all my updates via fchat & twitter while enjoying the beautiful outdoors in beautiful sf weather...

But, it's a different thing altogether. A boxing fan very well knows the fight can end in sometimes even less than 30 seconds. And there's no substitution. But in F1, there was. That's the difference.

Secondly, how often does a fight ends in 30 seconds? versus, a first lap crash and game over in 15 seconds.

Finally, boxing fans that are willing to travel half the world, generally aren't the same earning class as an F1 can. How much is a ticket of boxing versus the 1st corner at Sepang?

Well, to be fair, Russia has i think now the worst circuit on the calendar. I wonder how long till Bernie pulls the plug.

We have seen India, Korea, Turkey disappear just after a handful of races.

4 Races, 4 pretty much identical results...coincidence? bad luck? highly unlikely, i'm not buying, kimi isn't buying it, even nico has decided to shut up about the "Ferrari threat".

Ferrari sucks again this season, no more excuses, car was full redesigned from the ground up by the new blood, they got closer, but they couldn't deliver and it is far, far from being a mercedes challenger.

    wonk, wonk.

So Seb shot up the inside of Daniel 'like a torpedo' ,only to be hit from behind by the original 'torpedo' from China!
