    I think it came in from AMS on KLM. Probably by truck to Ohio or Wisconsin??? Can't believe they ship cars without protection!!

    Well that would be fine as long as they wrap it really well for protection. Manufactures build palets with cages to protect the contents..The classis car guys ship them like this all the time. Even with insurance you can kiss the Patina good bye if it gets damaged!!

    I would have expected it to be inbound as well, but a person close to the action reported exactly the opposite. Maybe he misread the paperwork?

    Lots of important cars move around the world exactly like this. Someone did try to get creative while shipping this McLaren F1 from New Zealand to Woking once, covering the painted surfaces with bubble wrap. :D

    Don't understand why 5573GT was not owned by Mr Bardinon because he bought it in 1972. I read that in an interview published in french magazine Sport Auto in 2003. I saw him drivng it in 2002 (40th GTO Tour) and his son drove the car for the 50th anniversary back in 2012. There's a whole mystery about this car. The new owner seems to be unknown.

    Perhaps you've missed some details in the posts quoted above. That Pierre Bardinon owned 5573 GT - and that Patrick Bardinon drove this car during the 250 GTO 50th Anniversary Tour in 2012 - has not been disputed. Marcel simply states that, at some point, full ownership of 5573 GT was transferred to a single member of M. Bardinon's family, and as such, that individual owned the car upon M. Bardinon's death in 2012. For this reason, 5573 GT was not included in the estate and did not pass on to the family in general. On April 11, 2014, that individual family member sold 5573 GT to a buyer located outside of Europe.

    The subsequent post by user Terra indicates that at least two other members of the Bardinon family disagree with the contention that ownership of 5573 GT had been transferred to that individual and are contesting this issue in court.

    #0674 has a more interesting story than what some of the others have told. The car finished 2nd in the 1957 MM with Von Trips driving. It was the same race Portago had a front blowout that killed 12 including him and his co-driver. 0674 was a 315 S at the time and Portago’s car was a 335 S. After the race, Enzo was tried for Manslaughter but was acquitted. LeMans was the next big race and the car was upped to the 335 S. 0674 was the first car to exceed 200 kmh at LeMans. The car had engine issues in the early hours and was retired.
