With the 488 hitting its rev limiter so quickly it is inevitable that that on occasion it happens I have done it twice and both times the transmission will only go into 1-3-5-7 or 2-4-6 up or down shift I have to shut the car down for 5-10 minutes and it resets this is annoying, dealer is picking up car tomorrow I hope there is a fix for this.

They obviously still have some bugs to work out on this vehicle.

    - limiter kicking in short of redline
    - breaks squealing
    - any other issues being discussed ?

If I didn't have a Ferrari, I would be in line for the 488. I am not bashing the car's turbos, sound, etc. BUT...
I have been a new Ferrari model owner several times. I therefore hate to break anyone's bubbles. For you newbies out there, new models can be trying. Sadly, lots of little and sometimes big teething problems only come up when multiple cars are on the road. I hope that is all we are seeing here. More importantly I hope Ferrari corrects all these little glitches quickly for their owners. I also hope their are no big failures.

Fwiw I have hit the rev limiter twice on a 488. Nothing changed after. The redline does come fast though

No problems after hitting the rev limiter here either. It revs up so fast that you have to recalibrate your senses. Once you get used to it, it's easy.

Honestly, do you guys like the revs coming up so fast? I would not because of trying to calibrate daily driving situations. Best

Sounds like there is something else wrong, hitting the Rev limiter on its own doesnt usually cause the condition you described.

With that said, please share the Dealership's findings.

Fortunately the dealer was able to replicate the malfunction I was told they forwarded all the information to Italy and are awaiting their response for a fix..

That sounds like there is a problem with the DCT. My California did that when the transmission failed.

They don't come up that fast if you don't have your foot in it. My DD does not include that much fill throttle.

Dealer is replacing wire harness from transmission to computer. Ferrari diagnosed loose connection in harness.

Lets see what happens when I get it back

Odd or even gears only was the failure mode for the early DCTs, long gone fortunately.
