You may have something there! The use of "your" instead of the proper "you're" is a trademark Gregg-ism. If vrdjs tells us he's going to "persue" action against Cat's, then we'll know with certainty.

I don't know, I actually expect better from a successful screenwriter than lame accusations of mental illness, mocking of my lowly Miata, calling my car ****ty, and calling me ****** head. It doesn't seem like he's really trying, does it? Reminds me of the "Hey big nose" scene from Roxanne, only our screenwriter should be Charlie...

I want to thank the OP for starting this thread and making me laugh very hard. A Gremlin. I want to apologize to Roy that my laughter comes at the expense of his hassle.

You know what they say about Karma being a female dog? That isnt true. Karma is the reaping what you have sown. Its the 3rd Newtonian Law. What that means is karma is only a female dog if you are.

Omg. It's over a gremlin. (Not bought from Roy).
I'm in for twenty bucks to buy it as an f-chat gremlin. 99 more members in?

    This is fantastic.

Let's start a list, this can be like the Fchat $50. One member per month gets the car, then he has to drive it, or ship it, to the next physically closest member of the purchase team.

If the car dies while in your possession, you have to fix it, or replace it with a car of equal or LESSER value.

Here's a 16K mile 1977 Gremlin in Scottsdale AZ for just $17,500! Saving him over $5K if he takes Roy up on his return offer.

    That's actually pretty funny.

Hey wait, didn't Wayne and Garth do Bohemian Rhapsody in a Gremlin? Maybe it was a Pacer? We should do a Fchat reprisal...something like this...

    Sweet find Yin!
    I'll carry the paper.
I'm trying to get in good with a certain 200 workers to get crack at toxic workplace suits they need to file. We can get W and Ryan to hammer a home run on that.

Rick, I'm on it. It was indeed a Pacer. Now black, I know a dealer to sell it to a dealer to a chum-Customer. :)
Even the Gremlins are excited about this thread

OP is getting crushed out here. This story has more holes than the history of the F430 that was for sale recently. Either way hopefully the wife is OK and OP takes Roy up on the offer then everyone moves on.

In for a group buy on a car though.

I think a divorce go fund me for someone forced to drive a Gremlin. Cruel and inhumane.

I have personally dealt with Roy at Cat's Exotics and I find Roy and the entire outfit to be very professional and straight forward. I bought cars from them (yes plural) and sold my cars to them and have not regretted a deal yet.

I wish I had known Roy deals in the classics. I've got 3 credit cards paid off and I'm looking for a clean Pinto wagon. Basically a cash deal.

The thread title piqued my interest but when I read about his 200 employees I put the kids to bed and threw the popcorn bag in the microwave because I knew this was going to be good.

But s@&t who knew it was going to be this good!

We got a movie mogul trying to buy a 300k ferrari who gets upsold a 70's classic by a slick used car salesman who failed to warn his wife about the handling tendencies of an AMC.

There has to be a movie about this.

    Possible titles:

    Day of the gremlin
    Unsafe at any price
My husband went to buy a ferrari and came home with a gremlin
    Gremlins in the front end
This is too stupid for words

Remember to finance a depreciating automobile on your credit cards. That way you can take the hit twice.

Brilliant........manipulating the market and scoring on a rapidly appreciating classic. Like the OP I see a huge rise on the Gremlin also. But I hear the Gremlin can have expensive steering linkage problems.

I think if I made $5mil a year and made my wife drive a Gremlin she'd kill me. No divorce required.

I was having a rough Friday until I read this.

Thank you to all for making this a good one. I laughed out loud. There is a reason the car model was not mentioned at the start of this...

Roy cats is a top man, offering a refund on a car 'sold as seen'. If it was me, I'd tell the OP to go hassle CNC and be done with it, why buy back that heap of rubbish?

It's a shame for the OP that his car developed a fault, but that's life, especially with a 30 year old banger, Christ, my 5 year old X5 blew through the clutch in the transfer box the other day, who'd expect that on a 50000 mile car? Course, my reaction was get my wallet out, fix it, and move on, not go back to BMW and make them replace the car!

Jesus christ, you buy a 40 year old car, 75pt inspection says steering needs service, you ***** and moan that the car almost killed your wife (the shame of being seen in one?).

It all started getting juicy with the OP's attitude from page 1. Roy's reply was gold.

Roy proved that the steering problems were identified in the 75 point inspection.
