Interesting... But the quote "absolut kein Bastlerfahrzeug" is a bit exaggerated... 3,3 liter engine, rear spoiler from 3,3,...
1976 Turbo, chassis # 9306700653 for sale in France. Ad mentions that it was originally delivered in Italy by Boldrinauto Team on 15 Jul 76 and ad also states it does not have the original engine. From the photos, interior has been updated with 1977+ front and rear seats...non-optioned air conditioning & sunroof and perhaps originally non-optioned radio since it was Italian delivered. The car is sprayed down completely with a proprietary degreaser mixture which is allowed to soak for around 10 minutes before we start the wash down process. The pressure washer used has a built in upright burner and heating coil, this allows us to heat the water to around 120*F - it is incredibly effective at cutting away tough grime in a non-invasive manner. Obviously you cannot just let anyone loose with it. Our guy spends around 4 hours on an undercarriage. He takes great pride in it partly because the results are so dramatic. You can see some of the residue on the floor in one of the photos here - this is after he had cleaned the room twice already! A lot of people spend a lot of money on exterior cosmetics/paint but when you get under the car they are covered in dirt, grease, grime etc. If you have a good, honest car with no rust and all original components this is a great process to highlight that. Jamie's car is very original underneath, I've taken many photos of various paint marks etc throughout to highlight this - I will post them when I get back to the office Monday. Finally i have my COA in. Its what i tought it was,a 76' model sold and registered in 75' Nice to see it came original whit the Turbo striping. Do not know what the mean whit the Turbo logo in gold? Could this be the rearlid badge in gold? It had a carphone also,i think that was not common in 75' Image Unavailable, Please Login
Oh, very nice. Your car was delivered without a "turbo"-logo on the backrest of the rear seat. Not a usual choice. If interior is black, the logo is gold. Interesting Z-Antrag...! Enjoy your beauty!
+1 - Z-Antrag? Mount for the Bamberg antenna on the rear window? Interesting how the COA mentions 654 vehicles in the 1976 model year. 930/32 transmission for standard Pirelli P7s.
Jamie - I noticed from your detailed photos that the 1977 model year had two strut supports for the rear tail. Did the 1976 model year have this same setup? My 1975 Turbo only has a strut support on the left side. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Perhaps it was actually a special antenna for SW/LW/VHF/UHF transmit/receive (like Taxi's had) vs. a telephone we think of today...it was 1975 and if this was a U.S. car I would guess a CB radio antenna.
Rich, I agree the 654 figure is interesting as many of the Porsche books I have list 76 ROW 930 VIN's 001 - 644, I believe the correct VINs are is 011-664. Phil
More photos were added to the for sale ad on the bitter chocolate '77. Some stuff out of place (carpet incorrect, snorkels missing, clock looks to be a recent replacement, white headliner?, wheel finish, incorrect tail light lenses, incorrect designation badge placement) but overall appears to be a fairly complete car. The 1976 Turbo restoration page has a nice photo that shows two strut supports for the 1976 model year - Restauration - PORSCHE 930 Turbo 3.0 - Coupe - Bj. 1976 - GRAND CLASSIC - Restauration Klassisch Sportlicher Fahrzeuge und Oldtimer der Marke PORSCHE On my 1975 Turbo, the right support mount is not on the firewall and the tail's right side mount/hinge has no attachment points for a strut. Porsche must have added the right strut for the 1976 model year. Was this also true for the 1976 Carrera? Image Unavailable, Please Login
Thx,these "new model" deliveries happen before apparently. Here is a 77' delivered 78 model from Italy. Had original also the turbo script from what i understand in my minor Italian. Nice car i think.. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
"scritta modello turbo nera" refers to the side turbo-decals on the rear fenders and doors... Nice color, by the way!
75 Turbo Carrera #182 only has one mount. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
A really nice 77 930 is currently on BAT. http://bringatrailer.com/listing/1977-porsche-930-turbo-carrera/ Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Makes sense but I cant find the strut mount on my passenger side firewall (w/ sound deadening pulled down). Porsche would not have made two 3-liter Turbo tubs...one A/C, one non-A/C?
