My 348 Spyder is at Competizione for a chip tune following the Stoogwerz modifications. The mods include 355 airboxes with a straight run to the MAF's and TB's. No screens in Maf's. Ported TB's. Ported and polished Plenum's and intake tubes. Larger injectors. Fabspeed Headers and now custom chips. How many HP's does the brotherhood think I will gain. Results tomorrow. I'm Curious. Andy

Did you put any bumper stickers on? If you did, depending on the type +45-65 WHP.

I suspect you will gain ~20HP. I also predict that you could have lots more power gain but the custom chip may not be ideal. A programmable ECU is the way to go with your mods.
Do you have pictures of the engine compartment?

My guess is that your Spider put out 312 gross prior to modifications. My guess is that this is now closer to 330+. This seems to be the upper limit without more expansive mods.

Wow, that's much higher than the other wheel horsepower numbers I've seen but lower than what I'd expect at the crank. Do you already have some other mods and how was the 294 calculated?

If that's wheel horsepower it's an awesome number! The fact that you already have a free flow exhaust means the mods you're doing now will work even better, so Tim is likely pretty close. But I'm gonna say +18, just to be different. :)

    Ooo this will be interesting.

Are they going you give you a baseline with the modifications and THEN......actively tune it?

My guess for mods only, no tune, 306-311hp to the hubs. After they actively 316-321hp to the hubs, especially if they raise the rev limiter to allow it to spin to 8000rpm.

    That's my guess.

After they are done with the tuning, ask them if they can do a comparison graph between your car and a 355.

Ah, that tells the story. Based on this, assuming you are on a hub dyno, I'd expect about 300-305 on your measurement, so about 10HP more. This translates to about 330-335 crank HP.

Where you able to get a comparison graph between your car and a 355?

Nice number and looking forward to seeing the dyno sheet.

Yes, I have a photo. The 348 stays with the 355 until 7300 and the 355 takes off due to increased RPM's

    I KNEW IT!!!!

    355-sheem55

Like I have been saying for a long time the F119 is one potent little power plan, and is restricted in stock form. A few Stoogewerks mods and it's neck and neck with a F129 under the curve. Outstanding result bro!

    Post up the comparison graph.

348's have better torque curve, but lack the legs in the rev range. Means we do well up to top gear, then the 355 escapes. For now. ;)

Personally I favor more power down lower since replicating the higher rpm power gets complicated with 348's. 355's have that extra intake valve for the high rpm fuel flow. We don't. We can use a higher rev range - maybe 500 rpm more, but we need better fuel management and reground cam profiling. Problem is a single cam cannot be optimized across a rev range, so there is compromise. Lower or higher - pick your preference. Until someone comes up with VVT.

The torque in my car now dramatically increases at 4000. She now has a definate "sweet spot"
