https://weather.com/en-GB/weather/weekend/l/SPXX0015:1:SP Shocking - It will be sunny during the parade of GP Spain Hopefully some exciting passing but in the norm this has been difficult in the past SKY asks/thinks - Can Ferrari catch Mercedes? Can Ferrari finally catch Mercedes at the Spanish GP? | F1 News Max will be big news at Red Bull of course! Q - LH Rosberg Kimi - He will remain calm and Vettel will over drive the car trying to get back on form Race LH - Surely the winning for him will begin? Rosberg Kimi - He gets it right and does well to keep his job. IF he doesnt, not only will Arrivabene be gone, but so will Kimi next year - Sergio Sweater will probably be 'cleaning house' sooner rather than later
Weather has been rainy/sunny all week now, and it dries quickly even on the road. Heavy rain yesterday. Marchionne "expects" Ferrari to start winning in Spain Historically, Raikkonen has won every GP I've attended. Would be nice if he can continue that streak .
They might win but will it be a win of many to come or a 'one off' as the track helps Ferrari? We shall see but my instinct is a Ferrari win will be more of a one off as the Mercedes just appears to be so good in all places.
Dunno, I don't think it'll be hot enough for a Ferrari win. Watch S3 times closely, I think the Red Bulls will be fastest there.
We need to send Bas to more races so Kimi will win then! I'll make a crazy prediction: that Spain will be a tough track for all, and we will have a non-Mercedes and non-Ferrari winner, a la Maldonado. Something like 9 different race winners in Spain in a row? Hope I'm wrong and it's 1-2 Ferrari, but anything other than Mercedes in front will be a welcome change of pace! Q: ROS/HAM/VET R: BOT/RIC/VER
Q Ros Ham Ver R Ros Vet Ric Verstappen will be fast on a lap, I am sure. With race I doubt there will be much in it for him.
Odd statement, as he's been proving the opposite for the last season and a bit . Brutally fast in race pace, but only matching his teammate at quali.
Should Kimi win I suspect you may just get a few too! Enjoy the W/E, & remember the rule...... Cheers, Ian
Yep will take pics! Will probably not upload them directly once I'm home. Don't have a Spanish contract phone yet so 4g data is $$$.
Sure thing, not disagreeing here. I would be surprised, though, if he found the sweet spot on this car within two weeks. Qualy is setting up the car for one particular moment. Race is adapting, feeling, managing - throughout. There is lessons to be learnt for him, I am sure.
Definitely true. I'd be very surprised if he qualified close to Ricciardo (<.3), and even more surprised if he finishes close to him (<15 seconds)
Press conference line up: Fernando Alonso (McLaren) Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes) Daniil Kvyat (Toro Rosso) Kevin Magnussen (Renault) Carlos Sainz (Toro Rosso) Max Verstappen (Red Bull) --------------- Kvyat will get a million questions, all exactly the same, same goes for Sainz, why didn't he get picked etc. Verstappen will have a bunch of awkward questions to answer (awkward because Kvyat and Sainz are sitting right there in the room).
Lewis will only enjoy the grilling of the others because every question for them is one less for HAM "So, tell us again why you're not winning?" Fernando answers: "Yes it's always good to be racing in front of my home fans, I've won here twice, let's go out and see how we do, after getting into the points last time..."
Mercedes 1-2, again. Race winner: Hamilton Followed by: Rosberg The rest, who cares? I can't wait to watch the youtube of the awkward press conference!!!
SKY's talking points. A nice article. Surprising how Nico is considered very strong in general on this circuit. The big news to me is still Max and Kyvat and how they handle their moves. F1 Spanish GP talking points | F1 News
An old pic of Verstappen and Max. Scary to think this was likely not taken more than 3-4 years ago! Image Unavailable, Please Login
Lol exactly how do you figure that. The last Mercedes car to DNF in a race was Rosbergs, in Sochi last year. Incidentally, last year Rosberg had 2 DNFs to Lewis' one. So if it's time for anybody's car to dnf... it's lewis'....
