The OTO's are a better driving experience compared to the regular 612. If I remember correctly, there are only 50 OTO's in the USA. Well, 49, as one was recently wrecked. No, not mine..
So if the average 612 has say 20k miles on it, then we can expect the car has needed $60k in maintenance? Does that seem maybe a little off to you?
60K of main on a 612? no shot - not even close. ive had my OTO since new in 09 and ive done annual services and one major over 5500 miles
From an interaction point of view I much prefer the single clutch F1 transmission to a double clutch such as pdk. The OTO version I also find surprisingly smooth.
[I am just trying to figure out if it is worth spending the extra money as I heard the OTO cars drive better, have more options and are pretty rare[/QUOTE] in a word YES.
Just got back yesterday from the Pinehurst Concours d'Elegance 2016 in NC. I brought my Grigio Silverstone 07 612 HGTS for display only in the FCA area, that included around 25 beautiful cars - the usual 328, 458, and F-430 series; along with 512TR, F12, 599, and a rare F12 TDF. In the concourse, there were 2 Dinos (246), 288 GTO, 275, bi-color 308, TR (not sure why), and 250 Granturismo. Concourse winners for Ferrari class were 1) 275, 2) 288 GTO, 3) Dino 246 A lot of people came up to me and told me they had never seen a 612 in the wild and could not understand why. They all thought it looked fantastic and unique. I spoke to the wife of a wealthy owner who has owned dozens of Ferraris (he is on their special list), and she lamented they sold their 612, as apposed to others they've owned. So far, I have personally never seen another 612, other than the one I own and the 2 I test drove during the purchase process. Perhaps one day, I will go to a car event and finally see another 612. Maybe current 612 owners are too embarrassed to display theirs. I ran into a 612 in the wild once, while I was in my 612, and it wasn't 10 miles from home. I still do this day have no idea who it was. We gave each other a little high beam solute and kept on going. I remember thinking how gorgeous she was, how sleek, elegant and quick she looked. But at that point I still idealized the 599 and had already decided to move on. I've loved each of the cars I've had, but the one with the most memories, the one I miss the most so far, is the one I could pick my son and his friend up from preschool in, and did all the time. Good memories.
Saw your car there. Beautiful example. We'll have to bring ours to an event one day. I was in the black 928 GTS. I can't recall ever seeing one in the wild. I occasionally will come across one at a show (saw two at the Cars and Coffee at the Amelia Island Concours).
One of those (Grigio) was mine at Amelia! Such a wonderful car the 612 is , and relative rarity is just another plus. Drove my car from TN to Amelia (about 1000 miles) not a single issue.
What is it about 928 people and 612's?? Is it a random thing? Seems a few 612 owners here had or still have one.. This one's been in my stable for what seems like 100 years!
Never owned a 928, but was always fascinated by them. The 928 and Risky Business movie, from my youth, will forever be imprinted on me.

Before I got my 612 OTO car I first saw a red '06 612 at the Porsche dealer in Westlake, evidently they have a certified F tech. It was in for service with 26k miles. Later I saw it back for clutch/transmission work at about 28k miles. Another reason I decided to get a OTO car. That is the only 612 I have seen outside a dealer premises. I have only been to a few F events but my 612 is always the only one. This is saying something considering in So Cal you see all kinds of exotic rides.
The price on the black 2010 OTO in chicago with 6,200 miles just got reduced to 169k or best offer . Other than my OTO, it is the ONLY other black car with a full diamond stitch interior I have seen in the USA. This revised pricing makes it an excellent deal IMHO..... A very rare car at a great price! Richard Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk, please forgive typos
Awesome! (Although I haven't seen your car) Are the door panels also diamond stitch, or just the seats? Richard Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk, please forgive typos
It is a very good price, $10-20k below market in my estimation. There is a nice 2010 bianco OTO that is at @ $229,900 as well as a bunch of non OTO 08's in the $159k-$175k range
Epic! The sabbia is pretty! I meant to say the chicago car is one of two black/black with full diamond stitch. Cheers, Richard Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk, please forgive typos
