I think all of the above. Mesmerised as a child by the mystique, the speed, the beauty of the styling, the 'cool' of those who were able to achieve ownership. Becoming an owner was a challenge, an achievement in itself, and each car 'feels' its heritage unlike any other car I've owned.

Performance is a big part of it, being able to drive a car that has much higher limitations than anything else on the road can make you a very fast hero, but also a low speed muppet at times when high intensity parts let go!

Being able to share the experience with other people who appreciate the marque, be it taking kids to their proms, or adults to their weddings, is a really nice event that makes even an evil selfish old sod like me feel like I'm going something good for a change

I voted for engineering, but was torn between this and heritage, which is very important in my concept of Ferrari. I love the looks of my 308 but still amazed at the majority who voted for 'looks' as number 1.
I've mentioned before an old Alfa slogan which I actually think sums up Ferrari "the line, the style, and the power".

Heritage ....primary reason why I bought my first one in 1999

It was the closet thing I could ever own or drive on the road that comes from an F1 car.

Brand Status because it is a Ferrari and childhood dream but beauty also because it's the only model I could afford at the time where I could see the engine through the back glass. Seeing the engine through the back glass is just bad ass.

    Most won't like this but....
    my first consideration is Investment.

If it doesn't make financial sense all the other attributes are just pie in the sky.

PS I'm a car guy through and through. Have been since a tad, do most of the maintenance myself and have raced formula cars.
Now if I could just get back that Brabham BT29 that was sold for $4000... you know... for the Heritage. :D

As a couple of others have stated: can't pick one.

Wanted a Ferrari for 60 years, finally got it. I like it more and more each day and drive it more and more. I walk out and look at my C7 and climb into the 328... I drove Corvettes as daily drivers for more than 25 years.... today my 328 is, mostly, my DD.

Tillman summed it up perfectly... (Your color is gorgeous, BTW.)

I've always loved puzzles and solving problems. What better, more beautiful machine exists on the planet that when she's sorted, pays you and anyone in earshot back with the most emotional, exciting and raw experiences you can have with something crafted? A rejuvenating cycle as they also need attention as time goes on - as in who wants something that is always predictable? These machines give surprises in both the utterly worst and glorious best ways. And because of this is constantly pushing you to be better. They are nearly alive in this respect.

Plus the social aspect. Cruising with friends, talking about the cars, this forum, Instagram, learning, helping others solve problems. List goes on.

I'd own a 308 no matter the manufacturer.

It's pretty much all of them, but as an engineer the engineering and technology are probably what fascinate me most.

I voted "other" because for me it was not a single reason, but rather a bit of all of them, save perhaps the status.

Looks/beauty is 1st on my list, followed by street performance. Dream car was the Miura I had for 30 years.

I bought it for the driving experience. The same reason I purchase all my cars. I'm a long time car guy, and have outgrown the whole 'pure performance' thing. I enjoy the 'feeling' the car gives me. That consists of the 'entire package' that a car offers. That consists of looks, noise, feedback through the controls, and a minimum level of performance to qualify as awesome.

Ferrari has always been at the top of that list. There are a very limited number of vehicles on the planet that provide as exciting and unique a driving experience. I am blessed to have owned the few I have for the time I have owned them!

I like how "direct" all the inputs are. I was looking for a car that could seat 3 that had the same direct linkage feeling as how I ended up setting up my track bikes. We're looking at caterham now for next car for not needing third seat.

I'm kind of like Jay Leno (no not in net worth or number of cars). I'll buy a car because I like the design, if I don't love it, I don't buy it. Pure emotional, performance is a bonus. I mean Leno like, as in he has more; why did he buy that car, over I wish I was Leno cars!
