Speaking with many people at Monaco and with the winner bidder who is a customer of mine, it is far overpriced but he was wondering it, so he got it !

The winning bid was a mere 9% over the top end of the auction estimate (550,000 Eu), and whilst some may be surprised, the resultant sale was hardly "overpriced". In fact, it was auction market-priced for a factory-built Jota version of the SE30 in a one-off color combination which more than one person clearly wanted. Another example of The Market Speaks.

I'm not surprised; I expected this to exceed estimate.

Actually I was expecting close to 700.000 for the car. Incredible and to few of them, I like the color combo but would put a purple joto at the top of the chart for diablo

Yes, its the 14th of the 27 Stewart Warner small-gauge cars, the 164th production Countach, delivered November the 11th 1978 to Lambor. SA for a Swiss client, my records show "Bleu Met./Bianco".

Vale thought it required a restoration.

I think more, first of all, one might want to bring it back into the original livery, there are more than enough red CT's around!

514.250€ + VAT on top for the buyer

there are rust buddles on the roof and others areas, when you know how much it costs at places like Carrozzeria Nonantola, GM Carrozzeria or even Imperiale... you have already consume the 100.000 €

Then, you start to spend another budget for all mechanical fields...

At the end when this car will be finished, it still has no document, no title, no history...

It's time not always mileage that can cause a car to need a restoration

    Exactly.

I have a client with a 350 mile 1989 Pearl White 25th Anniversary that has been sitting for a very long time.

It was not preserved as good as it should have been and he/the new owner, could EASILY spend $15,000-30,000.00 to get everything back where it should be.

We had the car on display as part of an AutoBlog feature on Countach models and the 4,000 mile example next to it was in overall better preserved condition. Age and preservation is EVERYTHING, miles are not always the case!

I have seen a few as-new (350-500KM) 89's that did not look great.

(I was not looking for a queen).

Great investments which did nothing but sit and wait for the payday to arrive ;).
