    Hi everyone,

I have a question that has been in my mind for a while now, I am 22 years old, German and studying in Los Angeles and have a huge passion for cars. Especially Ferrari. My semester is coming up and I am searching for a new job. I wanted to take this opportunity and find a job that can get me closer to Ferraris. My best idea was to try the local dealershps and apply for a sales person training (I know that they do not hire you and slap you on a desk right away). I have a lot of experience with driving high end cars from my old job. I have driven anything from a miata to a veyron (love the 458 and f12 btw.). Now that my contract has ended at my old job, I thought I might give it a try

Do you guys have any ideas, recommendations and experience in that field? I am open for all suggestions and info

    Thank you
    Steven

Steven, nachdem Du diese ganzen High-End-Autos so gut kennst, und selbst gefahren hast, sprich doch einfach einen Exotenhändler in Los Angeles an; ich würde Dich nehmen, Du kennst die Materie, bist weltgewandt, sollte klappen. Viel Glück-e

    Hello Steven,

First just wanna make sure you can work legally in the US. Student visa doesn't give you the opportunity to work in this country. I came from Brazil but I have double citizenship.

From my own experience to get into a Ferrari (or any other exotic brand) dealer you need some kind of experience. And on top of that you need to create a nice network. Is hard to compete with the other sales people that already have a established contact list.

I would start with a entry-luxury brand like Audi, BMW, Mercedes and then prove yourself for this business.

    Good luck out there!

I think you would have a better chance at an apprentice position in the service or parts departments. Good luck.

Everything has been great! After I managed to get a few offers at various dealers, I have decided to go another route and started working independent. I managed to get very good contacts and got close to Ferrari. I do sell different makes but focus mostly on Ferrari. So far it has mainly been 458 speciale's, mclaren 650s' and a couple Porsches here and there. There was more potential in doing my own thing as I can offer almost all makes to my clients. I have helped quiet a few fchatters with some great cars.

Aside from the car business, I have opened my own business about 2.5 years ago. Product distribution in the medical field. It has been going very well and chose this as my main line of work. Cars still have my big passion though :)
