I believe 57235 (AC, PW, VM8500) was at Steve Harris Imports, Utah in its early days, and there may be images of that early in this thread.

Excellent, I believe the image posted of it in this thread shows it with EE plates still affixed.

A small detail like the EE plate makes all the difference!

Why is the GTO the only "modern" ferrari we see with the EE plate?

As I am sure has been documented previsouly on this thread, the EE or "escursionisti esteri" or literally translated to "foreign escursionists", are plates for cars destined for export. The 288 GTO if I am not mistaken was only supplied in one spec (hence the grey market imports into the US). All cars in Italy have to be registred before being driven, so for cars picked up at the factory and driven out of the country, the EE plates would have been provided.

As far as your question is concenred, by the time the F40 came around I am guessing many F40s were delivered in country by local dealers obviating the need for EE plates. If factory delivery was available on F40 (or subsequent supercars) I would imagine EE plates would still be provided.

This is all guesswork, others may know the facts.

Yes i was under the impression you would still get the EE plates if you picked up your car at the factory (F40/F50/Enzo or any other Ferrari post 288). But we dont see any of these with EE plates. Only the 288. So either they are out there but i havent seen pictures (possible) or there was a change in rules and you had to return the EE plates once the car actually left Italy/European Union (pure guess on my part here..).

Anyway, just wondering on a pretty non important fact :)
