I did, from agents lowballing and collectors not in a rush. Would probably sell it for EUR140K inside a few days.

But got to say, these are 500k cars in 20 years, I rather wait than sell quick to someone just trying to make money. And they are incredible to drive, the purest, the rawest. Actually I dont even want to sell, I just enjoy driving it less knowing how precious it has become.

    Hello to all,

I was wondering if Electric Antenna was standard equipment of the 1977 models ?

The hardware had Chrome or black finish ?

My COA mentions " Blaupunkt Bamberg " but no other info concerning the Antenna.

My car is a very late 1977 RHD Row.

If the antenna is on the gas filler side, it was manual.

If on the opposite side, electric.

930 Turbos always had electric radio antennas until they were replaced by the windshield antenna circa 1986. They were standard in black but perhaps you could option chrome as was the case with window trim. Even when 930s were delivered to countries without standard radio fitment, they were still delivered with speakers and electric antenna.

Am I alone in thinking that all the bullsh`t that goes on about "turbo lag" on these early Turbo's is just plain sour grapes? Contrary, these cars were were it all began. The beginning of where we are today. The market is aware, but still seems to be missing it. That said, it's coming to light as tons of cars are bought, collected and restored.

I just read this article: Missing Ferrari 488 GTB supercar - Business Insider

Summary is: the brand new Ferrari 488 GTB has less than 1 second of Turbo lag. The writer who test drove the car, noticed no turbo lag.

Amazing where we have come in 40 years, isn't it?

The latest Turbo S is the fastest accelerating production Porsche 911 EVER! Faster than a GT3 RS around the track at Nurburgring by 2 seconds.

So... Why all the sh`ting about 40 year old technology and where it all started from? Porsche 930 Turbo Carrera, the first Turbo Supercar! The beginning of the Series Porsche Turbo! This is where it STARTED!

No one says that old Ferrari 250 GTO from 1966 is slow with it's 230hp. No one says that the early / first Apple Computers are slow. Instead the GTO sells for tens of millions and instead the Apple computer sells for hundreds of thousands of dollars. Granted production and scarcity comes into play, but I am not *****ing about the prices.

Now for my own statement: I don't see why these cars aren't cherished (mind you, I didn't say valued) as much as a 1973 911 RS. Maybe someday they will be... There once was a time when you could buy two handfuls of 73 RS cars for $80,000 each if you wanted them. Good luck sourcing two handful's today.

Agreed. And bet that 99% of the people doing all this sh' ting about this 40yr old tech would not be able to bring a 260HP car to the its limit. I race in Renault Clio Cup in France, a tiny 210HP racer, and I can tell that bringing this simple car to the limit is just very very difficult... Accelerating in straight line doesn't demand much skills, but braking and turning does. Our 930 have the roughness and defects that make them so enjoyable to drive. I think the same about my Alfa Romeo Montreal, a "sleeper of the vintage" as Robert Parker would say, and another one so much misunderstood car... How annoying to drive a "perfect" car !!!

Does anyone know whether this back piece of leather on the door was usual on 76 ROW 930 ? This was originally on the car but I don't think I saw that on many other 930s. The speakers were added after though (they are pretty ugly and I may get rid of them very soon...).
    Thanks

I've driven plenty of 'modern era' 911's, and the 930 is just so much more enjoyable to pilot. They also look so bloody good!! Sleeper at todays values, buy a good one and watch it appreciate whilst having one of the best cars ever made!!

This looks like somebody wasn't able to repair it correctly...
By the way: the switch of the power window doesn't look original too.

Indeed, the switch is not correct, the old one was broken and I replaced it with a seat adjuster switch...!

There are also several 75 Driver's Manuals...between German, Italian and French (and perhaps English), getting the one you need is going to be tricky and a long wait until one pops up. Some are much more rare than others.

This 75' chassis was shown at the Porsche Stand Techno Classica last time.
Wonder what the final bill will be on this.
The note said it was a private client resto.
