Formula 1 short review, nice on board of the MB cars BEFORE the start showing they are in different settings on the steering wheel.

Nice side by side on-board camera angels of both MB cars from start to crash

Nice on-board view from Ricciardo's car as he watches cars 1-2 take each other out.

From RIC's view, it sure looks like both MB link right at the same time.

Peter Windsor knows a thing or two I would think and is saying Nico should not have moved to block. He should have known contact was inevitable making that move given the performance difference between the cars at that time.

    http://youtu.be/wPdWQatlaNU

Of course he also says that if Hamilton had not stuffed up turn 1 and let Nico by, the crash would not have happened.

    Regards
    David

Wasn't he totally discredited some years back owing a heap of people money ?

Not that that stops him having an opinion, just I'm less likely to believe him and listen to all the magi here on fchat :p

That's not quite what I heard him saying in that piece..... All a question of interpretation I guess.

    +1 ;)

As you've noted, a racing incident.

Sure, Nico was going 'slowly' at that point, but again, it's the responsibility of the guy behind to ensure he can make a safe pass - If not, back off & live to fight another day(lap ;))

Can hardly wait for Monaco!.... Could be epic!....We can be pretty sure they'll take the front row, but which way round? (I can feel another poll coming on....)

    Cheers,
    Ian

    Poor Danii!

    Guy can't catch a break!

He's certainly bought a lot of 'it' on himself, but that seems a little harsh! ;)

Good stuff, & thanks to (I assume) Andrew for adding those two options.

    Cheers,
    Ian

But this is modern motorsport for you, ie. no sportsmanship. Of course Nico wanted to block LH, and if contact was made, he comes out on top.

LH had everything to lose and should have been more cautious.

Yes Lewis was more cautious going into turn 1,he moved to the right to cover the inside and braked a bit too early having less grip ,Nico made a great pass on the outside ... oh yeh notice that Lewis did not try to push him wide onto the grass once he was alongside mid corner.

The speed advantage Lewis had coming off turn 3 would be something like coming up fast from behind to lap a Lotus or Haas,a very easy pass. Unless das mobile chicane ahead decided to defend at any cost.

Nico WDC material even in the Merc? Nah sorry mate.

    lol lol lol

and Nico not WDC material? Who won the most races in a row between Lewis and Nico and who leads the championship this year and by how much? How many races won by each this year??

    more lol lol lol

OK.... One of your esteemed colleagues did then. :)

I initially posted the poll with just the first two choices, & it garnered around 100 votes before the comments above & the addition of options 3&4.

I suspect 'both' may have got more 'support' had it been there from the beginning. Not to mention the Danny Fiat option! ;)

    Cheers,
    Ian

I did mention those two after I saw you had the WRONG options for the poll :p

I have know eye deer how you could have left Danii out , according to Vettel it's always his fault

Anyway, good to see the "real" culprit is getting named and shamed :p

Why is it that I feel Michael in one of the Ferraris would be right in the mix making it a 3 way battle for the WDC

You got me on this one, after 5 races, with only another 17 to go.Might be a very different scenario by the mid season break.i won't dwell on who has actually won the WDC a few times already..leave that one to our resident expert!

even more lol lol lol lol
