I just hit a pothole (I am in Pittsburgh, PA) and the impact was so hard that the rim ruptured tire side wall. The rim only looks to have cosmetic damage. Can anyone make a recommendation for the wheel repair?

    Thanks
    Marco

Contact your local dealer they will have someone who can fix it .

Any spot-repairshop will spray the rim in half-an-hour, get a brandnew tyre ...

Fixed in a day imo !

Spot repair shops - at least in this country - are mainly low cost, low quality, and one (err, I) will see it. Especially the flat black color on my wheels. Perhaps acceptable for my other cars but not for a brand new $350,000 Ferrari.

Others may not agree but I would buy a new wheel or just live with the patina. It's not going to perfect, so I wouldn't bother trying to repair the damage. A factory finish with a scrape is better than a failed attempt at repair.

Get back into action as soon as possible, and enjoy that beautiful car!

It would drive me nuts not to get the wheel properly inspected and repaired/replaced as necessary. Since you don't have a Ferrari dealer in your area, I wonder (I'm just thinking out loud so bear with me) if you could contact a local Porsche dealer (for example) and explain your predicament? My guess is that a Porsche dealer would have the names of reputable shops in the area that they'd use to to repair wheel damage.

Another thought. Ask around for the best auto detailer of high end cars in your area. It seems that these high end detailers have a lot of good information about which shops do the best repair work on things like body repairs and painting, windshields, wheel repair, etc.

This is a really common problem and happens all the time. Almost all dealers will just outsource this work anyway. I agree with calling the Porsche dealership and asking for their input. This shouldn't cost more than a couple hundred dollars at most. Don't overthink it.

Even if there is no Ferrari dealer in your area, there will be wheel repair shops that can do a perfect job on a painted, cosmetically damaged wheel (a "diamond finish" wheel is tougher to fix). The local Porsche dealer can probably give you a good recommendation.

It may be best to replace both front tires, Marco. I don't Know what you have on, but P Zeros come in different designations (AO, NO, etc). You probably want similar wear tires (i.e., both unworn) on the same axle.

I went to the local Porsche dealer - Auto Palace - as suggested by some of you and they have been nothing but excellent to help me. They just had a matte black wheel of a 570S finished so they know the drill (no McLaren dealership here either).
As far as the tire is concerned, I only have 1000 miles on the car. Tire rack has the OEM (K1) Pilot Sport Cup 2 front tires for only $310! Got it "shaved", et voilà, it should be very close to the other one. Thanks everyone for your help. Much appreciated.

I had this happen to me on the highway. I had the car towed to my house, and then I had a mobile tire service come to change the tire. They had to order the same Michelin Pilot SS (K1), which took a few days to get in. I have a small chip on the rim and the repair guy said he could have the wheel repainted, but would take a few days. I ordered some Tesla grey wheel touch up paint instead, I'm going to try this until winter storage prep when I can have the wheel properly painted if necessary. No use not using the car in this weather.

First determine if the wheel is bent. If so, your decision is easier. Buy a new wheel. A good tire/performance shop should be able to tell when you go to change out the rubber if the wheel is bent or not.

Ferrari of Atlanta had pretty significant curb scrapes repaired on my 2009 612 OTO perfectly. Not sure who they use, but worth a call if you don't have a local resource.

Used by FoA. Did a great job last month on my Bentley wheels that were out of round. Around $160 per wheel, IIRC.
