    I have a good friend of mine looking to do something with a pearl white 1993 XJS convertible he has owned since almost new. Tan interior. Was a great car until the early 2000s when it became the spare car in the family. The kids banged up the front of it a bit, needs alot of work. Has around 70k miles on it. Driver seat has a good amount of wear. Interior clean otherwise. Needs suspension work and a good tuneup including fluids. It has been sitting for about 4-5 years. He wants to fix it up and then sell, but given the work ahead of it, I'm trying to convince him to sell it as is. Still runs and drives. Would be a good parts car at the very least. What do you guys think?

    Honestly his best bet would be to sell it as is. The market for these is pretty low, and for him to pay someone to do those repairs prior to fixing would certainly put him in the red.

    These would be the 4.0 I6 not a v6. Earlier cars are the 5.3 v12. I think there was a 6.0 v12 offered at some point as well.

    From what I have heard the I6 cars are the best, and due to their lower weight don't sacrifice much in the way of performance.




    How much is he looking to get for it?

    Get some photos and an asking price and post it up. Jag specific forums, Craigslist and even GrassRoots Motorsports should have people looking for projects.

    I always liked the idea of taking an XJS, and swapping in some components from the X300 XJR including the supercharged I6.I wonder if you could do a manual conversion..

    I did not realize the US eventually got the I6 version XJS. Hey at least I knew it never had a V6 lol.

    Yah op spill the beans. Whats your buddy need for the car as it sits? Bottom feeders have to eat too you know.
