No...it was a good answer...so good, in fact, that it perfectly reflects my thoughts on the matter.

    Regarding Max VS Ricciardo:

Ricci is the better qualifier. On an average day he's good. On a good day he's absolutely savage. He's done some amazing quali laps in his career. I expect pole from him in MC if they get that new engine tbh.

Max has fantastic race pace and has made few mistakes (in his short career). He's made sensational moves with overtaking and he's fantastic on the brakes, and can race wheel to wheel. As has Ricciardo.

In the one race they did together, we where lucky to see for the first half that they where right behind each other. I was somewhat surprised that the gap never went more than 2 or so seconds. Max had limited time in the car of course so for him to match race pace was a surprise to me.

On absolute skill there is nothing in it. Ricciardo the better qualifier, but we'll see what the future brings regarding race pace.

Either way I think that Red Bull has one of the strongest driver line ups there's out there right now.

After a year v Carlos I'm not clear on who was the better of those 2 drivers. Way too early to tell how he will go against Dan IMO.

I think it only happened at 1 race where Carlos beat Verstappen fair and square (i.e. where Verstappen didn't have a problem during quali or race, or any other session that cost him a penalty for the race. Including bad stops on the teams part).

Carlos was strong in quali but not as strong in the race. Especially once he got out of DRS he started dropping back.

Verstappen vs. Sainz was very clear. Points, qualifying, overtaking, braking, tyre management, it was all in favor of Verstappen and increasingly so.

Ricciardo is something else though, great lineup and will be interesting to see who comes out on top.

Always respect your thoughts mate, but I don't think there's enough for me to make a definitive call between Carlos and Max. Max certainly is winning the hype battle, and may well be slightly ahead in development as an f1 driver right now. I'll enjoy watching the battle between Dan and Max for the rest of this year, that's for sure.

No such thing as a dumb question .... only dumb replies :p

I was asking someone who I respect and has been around long enough to have seen Gonzales win the first race for Ferrari :p

Wouldn't that be great, the best driver in a Ferrari for a change ..... we've only had moaners and groaners so far (FA and SV), .... plus the ice cream man :p

Seven World Driving Championships between the three of them--clearly three losers. Ferrari's problem hasn't been lack of driving talent.

    Cheers mate :).

I've been watching the pair fairly closely, Verstappen more than Sainz admittedly.
Already am quite happy with our lineup myself...Was a Vettel fan when he drove for STR, obviously Kimi as well. Then Ricciardo = awesome chap, most likeable character in the paddock and ****ing awesome driver, and now Verstappen up there as well. And all in a decent car. Shame about the Mercs being so overly fast; ignore that team and look at the awesome potential this season has with the RBR/Ferrari battle.

Yes, we know where Ferrari weakness is, and it's not lack of driving talent !!

"Experience" can be genetically passed to younger generations.
Its been proven with fruit flies in one generation.
You can be sure humans get it too.

& I've gotta note, I *really* don't get this "hatred" of Kimi. IMO he remains one of the smoothest & fastest drivers out there. He's cool (;)), calm and remains damn quick. Give him a decent, reliable, car & he can win it all again - Ahead of Seb.

    Cheers,
    Ian

I think it's his demeanour that some people don't like.
Kimi is an introvert who made no bones showing he doesn't like all the hype and BS around F1.
His attitude during press conferences is typical of someone who would prefer to be somewhere else ...

Yeah, maybe. In that case, feel free to criticize his demeanor, fine. But not his driving or his ability.

Replace him with Sainz? Really? I totally fail to see how that would be any kind of upgrade.

Sure; Again, feel free to criticize him there.

He's paid to drive, not be a spokesman. Although, I accept that's now a part of the gig - I've said before I doubt another introvert - Jim Clark - would make it today for that reason. :(

But, he's made some epic comments over the years too!....

"Kimi, what's your favorite part of the W/E?"
    "I think so, the start."

    "& your least favorite?"
    "Now...."

    :D

Love the guy! But most importantly, he's quick!

    Cheers,
    Ian

The whole grid is quite talented and being a WDC doesn't mean you're the best driver ....... look at Keke, I believe, the most undeserving WDC of all time

    Who hates Kimi ??

He is the only reason I'm still barracking for Ferrari !!

If Hamilton takes his place I'm selling up and moving on (be sad o see the challenge go but I don't want anything that reminds me my team is crap :p )

With tinfoil hat firmly on I still think the 2007 WDC was rigged, an idiot could have won from where LH was in relation to Kimi, it was only possible mathematically and I don't rate either driver in the genii IQ stakes :p
