I believe, and you probably already know that Hewland boxes have been used in 360 Modena race cars. Back in that time period, the gears were changed with a gear shift lever and not paddles.

However, now it seems one can opt for a paddle shift.

The Hewland box is obviously very quick and reliable. But are the shifts too rough for a car for the street and traffic?

Info from my contact at Hewlend.

We supplied a sequential dog box to Michelotto-Ferrari which was our NLT gearbox, Then for the 430 we supplied a derivative of the NLT essentially re-cased.

However the NLT has been discontinued replaced with our LLS/LWS product and it is this gearbox that we would offer. Note however that as dog gearboxes with straight cut gears they are not really intended for road use.

For those speaking German, here a nice description of the early use of Hewland boxes in 360 rally cars: http://gpstratos.de/data/documents/Ferrari360Rally.pdf

Wow like the rear wing was not big enough it just drifts out at the start of transition.

Shame such a nice car and was having a red hot go.

I think that car is a Zytek (Gibson) 4 liter motor or one like it.

Hope not I can make a bell housing and the other parts easy plus a new oil tank for the motor.

Below is the RRP prices almost the same as the 458 GT2/3 gearbox so I could use this box in any Ferrari should I wish to change cars later on.

The gearbox prices are as follows:
LLS Aluminium casings with semi-auto actuators or manual selection with non-adjustable TLT-212 diff
    £16,569.00
LLS Aluminium casings with semi-auto actuators or manual selection with adjustable TLT-212-A diff
    £17,468.00
LLS Magnesium casings with semi-auto actuators or manual selection with non-adjustable TLT-212 diff
    £17,995.00

With the semi-auto actuator model do you still use the foot clutch for starting and stopping?

If you have an auto blipper set up in conjunction with the box, it'll cut down substantially on the typical wear and tear of the dogs. It was very impressive to see the reduction in wear when our Cup Car owners upgraded to an auto blipper, generally in 20hrs we'd see considerable wear of the dogs, post auto blipper the transmissions looked brand new in that same amount of time.
