Total B.S. F12 Rumors...

When I did factory tour in 2014 they were turning out 24 V8s (458s)/day. The "guide" said they vary V8 production as necessary. So, obviously lower now. Also, told V8 motors produced by a group of people. V12s put together by a single worker. They said V12 production was approximately 6 (to 8) at that time as well.

Why? How many V12 cars are sold annually? If this number was far too low, they would have to sell a lot of V12 cars to make that possible. If Ferrari produces 7000 give or take a year and more than 2/3rds are V8's, that makes perfect sense. Just look at how many Cali's and 458's were produced over a 5 year period. Not sure about the Cali production numbers, but they would have had to produce at least 4000 458's a year - probably closer to 5000. Also I think 6 a day is more of an average. I would not be surprised if some periods saw 4-5 a day produced and others 7-8. I might be completely wrong, but that's my take on it.

 

Excuse me but what on earth are you talking about ? I am British and have no idea why you are talking sovereignty and Brexit. Is that a cheap shot thinking it might offend? It does not, it looks a weak and pathetic attempt to cover up for the fact you wrote a post that was so far from the truth it was laughable. As you would know from reading these pages. Not only was the title of your thread 100% inaccurate but the sheer arrogance with which you posted your laughable ill researched comments as if only you were the keeper of the truth was breathtaking. You dismissed information from members who are so close to the factory as if they knew nothing and having laughed at all us poor souls and what little we knew, thankfully you were here to lift the scales from our eyes.

I tried to point this out gently but you said you would prefer to believe your ill informed dealer rather than any of us 'enthusiasts'. Well you have been proven to be 100% wrong, categorically by one 'enthusiast' who just happens to be one of the accepted worlds great authorities on Ferrari, and maybe a slice of humble pie wouldn't go amiss.

I would also say I have never been rude on any of my 4,000+ posts, and was not here, I just pointed out how aggravating it was when someone came out so positively with rubbish info and dissed all other contributors as ill informed enthusiasts when that is ironically what you have turned out to be. I have also learnt over time the incredible knowledge base represented here, genuine knowledge, and learnt to post carefully with any private information I might have, making sure of its veracity.

Finally, whatever has Brexit got to do with it? That is a truly remarkable segue and as about as relevant as every word you have contributed. Montpelier, however, says it better.

Maybe for some unknown reason your dealer can take an order because somebody else cancelled it at early production stage.

 

Well I'm glad that's over, hopefully, and I have no idea how our referendum got dragged into this but back on topic.

The point I was making is that we all have information but this forum depends on respect and posts like this are not helpful. JMJ may well have had something useful to contribute but it is just the manner it which it was thrust down us 'enthusiasts' throats that upset me.

There will inevitably be a few late delivery cars, if Ferrari can fit them on the line and turn a buck, no way will they not do so but the fact remains the F12B production is effectively over and we wait for the M which I am assured now will not be at Paris but at Geneva. Indeed I know my dealer has an F12 September build, but it doesn't alter the fact we all shortly await the 6.5 litre 800HP AWS M that will replace it. Private viewings in Jan/Feb at present.

Interesting why the demand for a car at the end of its cycle is so strong and that also explains, certainly in the UK, the high residuals.

Looking forward to see how they will top it with the new version. In the meantime...gonna try and rack up at least 50,000 km on my odometer before the end of this year.

 

My Titanio F12 is stunning...amazing and completely different from my 458. I'm averaging 8K miles/yr on the F12 right now...I plan on keeping her forever. (By "her" I mean beautiful, comfortable and cozy when you want, and when you push "her" a stark-raving mad dominatrix hellion!)

Recently, my dealer offered me a second allocation, about 1 month ago, their last one...I was tempted...but two mistresses like this spells trouble with a capital T!

F12 might be the first non-limited V12 car ever (I might be exaggerating a bit but not by much) where Ferrari got everything right from the first day it was launched. There have been no complaints about the chassis, gearbox, engine etc. and no mid life upgrades like a Handling pack. It also feels like it has been more limited and/or desirable than the previous few V12s. The demand still remains strong even though the car just ended production.

 

I think you could perhaps put the 550 Maranello in that category.

 

I know that we should just enjoy our great cars but I'm a newby to the Ferrari family and was wondering how much the upcoming F12M will affect the prices of our cars once the M is in its 2nd or 3rd production year. For a change it would be great to immensely enjoy a car and have it not depreciate like a rock. Hence the switch from the bull to the prancing horse for me 😀

Well thee 550 had the Fiorano Handling Pack.....

 

There's always a newer model or a revised model and that expectation is built into the vagaries of the depreciation curve

As to valuation, no one really knows but my gut feeling is have a look at where F12s are, where nicer 599 GTB HGTEs are and that will show you the space the F12b's have to fall. How long it takes to get there is anyone's guess.

My gut feeling is that F12s are known to be well above the 599 in all regards, have many 'lasts', are very well revered, and will stabilize higher IMO. If I were Ferrari-less it would be no contest which one to take home even with a strong price variance to any HGTE.
