    The House got a new 458 :)

I've had several calls about this car so far and everyone said the price is excellent...so who wants a 328 for their collection? It doesn't get better than this single owner of 30 years.

With all the interest & calls it should sell soon.
Good luck with the showings this weekend.
I'll follow up with a couple I know that were asking about it.

By the way, anyone do a recent PPI on it?
    Can you share the results?

Based on popular car sites this may be the lowest priced 328 in the country.
Don't drop the price anymore; should sell soon.

    Thank you for helping out!

We contacted Lake Forest Ferrari and Continental Autosports and they both said they don't perform PPI's any longer.

The car has always been serviced and we have detailed records. Always stored indoors and maybe has seen a drizzle of rain 3x in its life. Never snow. Car looks and feels new.

    This is a GREAT price!

I agree...we are seller it to Fchatters for this low price but if we post on other sites we will be listing it at 124,900. And, that price is still low considering the majority of the cars have 30 or 40,000+ miles!

Just curious, did Lake Forest & Continental Autosports, give a reason for no longer doing PPI's? I've heard of several people that are no longer doing appraisals on collector cars because of legal hassles. Hope that's not going to be some kind of trend, making it hard to find qualified shops that know what they are doing, to perform a detailed inspection.

You are correct Sir, LFSC and Continental both said "Legal reasons" was the reason they will no longer do PPI's. Something tells me this came from Ferrari HQ.

It makes sense unless you sign a waiver form. It seems like a waiver of liability form would be much easier to do than just abandon the PPI service. Although, if you've ever seen the service dept at these places, they are packed with cars all the time. Last time I was at LFSC, they must have had 30 cars in rotation and several >2-4mill such as a LaFerrari, Enzo, F40, etc etc.

I remember why. I wish I had the specific link as it was in Ferrari Market Letter or Forza magazine. An attorney had a Ferrari dealer do a ppi on a 275 GTB it passed with flying colors. Years later the same attorney had it sent for a "classiche" certification and it was discovered that a tie rod had blown and the crank case had been repaired.

The Ferrari dealer who did the PPI missed this and according to the owner/attorney, greatly reduced the value of the Ferrari.

I'm going off memory on this.

Any F dealer within 100 miles of where you're located that can do the PPI?

There are several shops in Chicago that have master mechanics on staff. One particular shop has a Ferrari expert on staff.

This car is immaculate...Who ever buys it needs to see it and go over it and then decide what to do next.

It's sad that your only purpose on this forum is to annoy people with sny comments. I thought we had agreed on another posting that you would go away. All you do is demean and post negative comments. Perhaps you are better suited for a different forum than Ferrari Chat.

You've had an infraction in April and an Infraction in May for market debates, negative commentary, and trolling the classifieds. You've also had many comments deleted that didn't get formal infractions.

Since your last infraction we've had, in other threads:

And the negative nitpicking commentary in this listing. Clearly, you're aware of the rules:

Yet, clearly, you don't want to adhere to them. Take the market speculation and nitpicking commentary to the model forums - this section is for advertising cars and connecting sellers and buyers, not for your personal entertainment.

2 weeks off to reinforce the message and further incidents will result in progressively more severe moderation.

    All the best,
    Andrew.

Good Luck with this. You are brokering a nice car. I am very surprised at the value increases of 328s.

Please get the ODO clarification in writing for the buyer.

FYI, PPIs should only determine roadworthiness and condition, not collectability. Evaluating collectability is a job for a well-insured appraiser (since he/she will place a market value on the vehicle), preferably one who has judged at Concours-level events in the class of the vehicle inspected. Also, PPIs can be minimally involved (simple inspect) to highly involved (lifted vehicle inspect; monitoring fluid changes and pre-transfer maintenance activity; maintenance review/verification; deep inspection (especially 3x8 fuel hoses); engine testing, etc.); for each level, PPI would document findings; as long as the findings are truthfully disclosed, they would be reasonable for confirming condition. Thus I don't see why your dealer would not do a PPI, especially if they serviced the vehicle; perhaps they would generate a 3 month/1K mile warranty after sale to back up their service quality (lot of legal details therein, like...no racing, etc.)

Also, please detail the engine to shiny and new looking; it will help.

Nope, a local guy learned about it from a local garage that had reviewed the car since the Ferrari shops no longer do PPI's despite what some of the all-knowing-everything Fchatters might think.

MY 458 sold through Autotrader and this car sold through word of mouth. I've watched a lot of other ads on Fchat go the same way.

My experience on here has not been a good one. In my opinion, there are equally as many negative people as there are positive. This is evidenced by the number of deleted posts and infractions on the various ads. Ok, so maybe that's a bit negative. Perhaps there is 1 bad apple per 9 good apples on here. Regardless, that's a shame.

So, I'm going to take a break from all of this for a while and I'm sure I'll talk to you all again.

    cheers and enjoy!
