    There is lots of talk about the necessity for a correct running 355 in order to avoid known issues ( valve guides, failed headers, failed cats, etc.). Let's compile a comprehensive list here.

    1) correct functioning thermostat
    2) undamaged headers
    3) frequent fluid changes

    Please add your thoughts

    Check and Have spare:

    Motor Mounts
    Fan ECU's / Replace fans
    Refinish Sticky Interior
    Spare Windshield for possible future delamination
    cv boots
    leather dash & airbag cover shrinkage - only a matter of time
    radiators can go bad and crack (see #3 above) - may wish to replace with aluminum units

    -fresh water pump every engine out
    -Goth CV boot shields
    -Goth ignition wire reroute kit
    -oil level correctly between min-max
    -keep eye on oil consumption/mileage, as per manual normal 1-2L per 1000kms. from min to max on stick represents 2L. my car ~1L per 2000miles
    -functioning BP valve
    -fuel line recall if not done.
    -upgrade new version Cat ECUs.
    - pay attention to the radiator fans, make sure they come on correctly etc..
    -fuel pump rubber gasket replacement

    Good start.
    Specifically want to focus on the running of the engine, exhaust system and electricals. Items that will prevent the cascading / domino effect that can plague these cars.

    Those were my thoughts,exactly...but I read just this morning that most of the 355 problems were way overblown and "simple" to correct. LOL!

    Funny stuff.

    Upgrade to F1 relay that fails closed, so it doesn't run your F1 pump continuously til burned out.

    I see what you did there... later 95's have a single fuel filter and run just as well.

    That comment reminds me of an advert we did many years ago --- with the valves from my personal 348, after the timing belt decided to take a walk on the wild side.
